Frustrating half as we've not been that poor there is just no one to crate anything so Taylor and Grant are currently feeding off scraps.
Doesnt help that Barnsley scored two wonder goals (another time and they'd have gone wide and / or over) so they've probably taken their foot off the gas slightly, which in turn has made us look better than we have been.
Second half and I'd just get Albie Morgan on - The probable change would either be Reeves or Pratley for Fosu and go flat 4-4-2 but for me it doesnt change it enough for me... as with Coventry we're seriously missing Joe Aribo in the engine room.
Commentators have just said they hope that Barnsley get an early third to truly kill us off but worry if they do that then they'll go on and get a fourth... Just hoping for a repeat of when Jordan Cousins made his debut and helped turn it around the last time we were at Oakwell!!

think we've taken playing defensively a bit too far. every single time we've got the ball, no matter where on the pitch, we've looked to play it to Steer. he can't have ever had this many touches before

Did we not play a flat 4-4-2 last half?
Id have said that it was more 4-1-3-2 with Bielik protecting the back four with Pratley (quite often our furthest forward midfielder) / Marshall (invisible) / Reeves pushing on
Well, I was n a more forgiving mood on Wednesday, but that was fucking shit.
Barnsley, like Coventry, pressing us very well and we haven’t got the run of the ball, but we’ve been second best all over the pitch.
Steer, can’t kick past the halfway line half the time, but with out fault for the goals.
Full backs both exposed, out of position, and struggling to get forward.
Midfield - do we even have one? So much space for them on the ball, and when we get it we’ve barely played an accurate pass all game. I’m sorry, Marshall may be a smashing fella, but he’s not even average league one standard, never beats his man, never delivers a decent cross, he just runs up and down tne wing making no impact on the game. Reeves is trying to get involved, but his decision making and passing have been horrible. Pratley is what he is, but he’s no replacement for Aribo.
The front two are passengers in because the midfield is being so dominated.
I’d suggest a shape change to a 3 5 2 to try and get an extra body in the middle of the park, try and get a foothold, but with Pearce probably crocked now I doubt that is even an option.
If we can just stay in the frame for the playoffs I think we will surge up when we get our injured players back.
Yeah but they'll be replacements for those getting knackered at the moment - the one improvement they might as well do at Sparrows Lane is put revolving doors in for the Physios Room!!
As commentators said at the start we've EIGHT first team players out at the moment - Under any other serious owner going for promotion we'd be looking to ensure we have new bodies in between the Walsall and Sunderland fixtures yet we bloody well wont because he's a prick of the highest order!!

Are we watching the same game?
We have been out-pressed, out-fought, out-manouvered, out-passed and out-scored for the entire half. We have been dreadful and Barnsley have been excellent.
Other teams, a quick goal, and a fight back to draw or even win it.
A lifetime of supporting Charlton tells me to expect a substitution and tactical change, followed by the sucker punch of the 3rd goal. Probably early doors.

Yeah thats the usual script for being a Charlton fan
Only thing you've forgotten is that sub usually brings about fives of hope that we may get back into it before the third goal is scored

Opposition closing us down before we can draw breath and attacking non stop when they have possession.
Little on the bench to provide support , sadly.
Thanks, Roland.

Still, these are character building moments of following Charlton.
