Thanks Goonerhater for your comments. Yes part of St Paulinus church dates to around 1100 but the foundations date to Saxon times. Its seen a lot of history pass those walls! Thanks Clive for your detailed feedback. Like you the WW1 centenary had been a focus for such along time that it was fascinating to learn about a subject I knew very little about. I knew bits and pieces but not how the story of Hengest leads into the Arthurian myth. Enjoy Peterborough and please sort those northern rapscallions out. I went to Barnsley on the way back from the in-laws at Xmas. Really enjoyed going to a real away game rather than one around London, which is all I do nowadays. I'd like to try and do Plymouth in April. Any way I will be there on Sat for Stanley with two extra U11s in tow.
