My only change to your team FA is, I cannot see (unfortunately) Cullen starting, so as I think Reeves will also be on the bench, I would put Lapslie on instead to start.
Concerning this match, after receiving sarcastic, rude remarks about another article I posted a couple of days ago that I thought some people would find as interesting as I did, I realised, at my age, I do not need this, so have decided not to continue doing the matchday commentary or post any other articles. Sorry for those that rely on it and thanks to all the "likes" I have received in the past. I am sure there will be someone more than capable to do this from now on.
Whatttttt, is this based on the thread for U17s where are they now?
PS- just checked if its just @golfaddick dont worry he is the resident grump take it with a pinch of salt. Article was interesting but a bit soon for a where are they now, but he could have presented differently...
Ross i love your commentary and also all the little bits you add to this site, information from twitter and updates. Don't let one thread dictate what you would normally do, i am pretty sure there are alot more who value your input on here especially on the matchday thread.

Thank you for your reply, there were other remarks as well as people agreeing, so I presumed I must have been out of step with others. I know that contributor is always having a go but I try to enjoy reading other contributions and hopefully posting some, so others will enjoy. I will think about your request

Please think again, you do a sterling job and 99% of posters and others that do not post often, like myself, enjoy your contributions very much.
Ross, I for one enjoy your match threads and they mean a lot to those of us who live abroad. Please try and ignore the unhelpful comments and resume your popular match commentary. I will be looking forward to following you again this Saturday.
As far as the game is concerned, I am a little worried by all the positive forecasts on here. This is Charlton we are talking about and when you expect a win it is often a different outcome. A physical team could play to get a player sent off which could upset the form book. An early goal for us is always a big bonus and will give us all a boost. Here's hoping for another 3 points to continue our chase for automatic promotion!

We all know what will happen if Ross is on a break!
In all seriousness, don't let anyone force you off this site. Your contributions are enjoyed by the vast majority.
Thank you, this is most gratifying to know
I am not aware of whats happened but I would like to echo Covered Ends comments, being a boycotter your match day contribution is superb when I am in front of a PC as are your non match day posts.
the sort of game that we need to win as they are a mid table side sitting quite a bit outside playoffs, when you look at our remaining fixtures it does fill me with confidence we have a run of games towards the end of the season with teams sitting in 21st, 22nd and 23rd spots hopefully they could be doomed by then, this season i take every game as it comes, fancy a 3-1 win.

Take no notice Ross1. I get plenty of flak from my own nephew cabbles on here and he's a bleedin moderator. IGNORE THEM as Alan Partridge use to say.

Echo this. Please don't stop doing what plenty on here really appreciate.
Accrington Stanley have played a flat 4-4-2 for the majority of this season, two wide men getting crosses into the box, a traditional system. They have rarely came away from that, but when they have they've adopted a 4-5-1 system, but this hasn't served them with too much success, so expect their usual 4-4-2. This could leave to an open game which would suit us and I don't also believe that the Stanley players will have the discipline and fitness to be pressing us high all game, so we could potentially be allowed to play from the back. It would probably go without saying, if you have been following Accrington Stanley this season, that their most influential player is their top scorer, Billy Kee. However, it would be foolish to think that they don't have other key players, most notably their left winger Sean McConville, who has been floating around the lower reaches of English football for a while now and has already 8 league goals this season; he scored 12 in the league for Stanley as they got promoted last season. This points to Solly having to be on his game tomorrow and ensure that his quality comes out on top.
Stanley's most common result this season is a 1-1 draw, which we were also involved in back in August. They have drew 1-1 seven times already this season. However, the last time they had that result was way back on 3rd November away at Coventry, 10 games ago. They've had 6 of their last 9 games in all competitions at home, whilst they've lost 3 of their last 4 away from home, conceding 7 and scoring 3. Looking at things further, they've only picked up 8 points from their last 10 games, wins away at Plymouth and at home to Shrewsbury, whilst drawing away at Coventry and at home to Bristol Rovers, this one was last week.
Regarding our situation, being at home I would fully expect us to start with the diamond formation that Bowyer really likes, especially with the players we now have available to us again in the middle of the park. The biggest question is in that case, who starts? Bielik we would assume would continue to play at the base of the diamond, although now Cullen is fit, that is his best position rather than one of the two in the middle. Pratley will surely continue to start now he has scored last week and beginning to put some performances together. Reeves is an option that Bows seems to really like as one of the two in the middle and being at home, he is definitely an option to start which could happen. The other thing to consider is does Williams continue to play at the tip of the diamond or does he drop further back and allow Fosu to come in, being at home we should be in the mindset to attack far more than being away, it is something that Bows and Jacko would definitely have been considering. With all the news about Clarke, I can't see him being included in the squad unfortunately, as I would love to keep him but that doesn't seem like it is going to happen. Morgan, possibly harshly, I feel will be the one who drops out completely as well.
Predicting the results for this is not as simple as it may seem, just as is predicting the actual line-up, but I do fully expect us to go out and win the game. The line-up itself is incredibly difficult, as a midfield three of Bielik, Cullen, and Pratley at home could be a little too safe. However, that is what I have gone for, but I do expect a more attacking team, one including one of Reeves or Fosu. For me, this game is about keeping things tight at the back, being sensible with and without the ball, whilst still managing to take the game to them. A good first half for us will bode well.

The way the team seems to be setting itself for an automatic promotion push has given us all expectations of an easy victory. This is definitely the sort of game we should win if we are serious about closing the gap to the teams above us. With players coming back, we seem to be getting stronger. But we are Charlton and nobody can be totally confident because we have disapointed before.
There will be a number of games coming up that we will be able to class as our most important of the season, but I think this is one we can say that about. Then that will move on to Posh. Let's hope we are not disapointed - I'll go for a convincing home win.
Bloody hell, if you excuse the language, I would never have guessed how much support I would get over this. I do enjoy doing the matchday thread, so unless anyone else wants to have a go, I will carry on. Thank you for the support
