Talksport said very contentious penalty. Ref didn’t give it and Lino was well behind play and gave it.

It's great to pick up 3 points so late in the game and great that so many teams around us have dropped some. Fingers crossed over the next 3 games. If we can get at least 6 points without Lyle we're looking very good for the automatics.

Looks like Lyle already half way to ground in that image, so can’t see how he’s done enough to deserve red. Of course haven’t seen footage prior to this so maybe he had some something.

Only seen Jimmy’s angle from behind the goal.

The defender’s arm was raised and the ball hit it. But did he have enough time to get it out of the way? The ball was struck from very close range.
  • Is Igor fit yet, or can Billy Clark play as a striker?

Don't care how nice Andy Holt or their fans are, scummy set of players who belong in League 2 and below.

The penalty was a clear handball.

Blimey what a contrasting afternoon from a very civilised pre match Q&A with their gent of an owner to a mass brawl. Shouted myself hoarse - meant to be on Charlton Live show tomorrow so better keep quiet this evening to make sure I have a voice. Can't call us Southern Softies after that.

If you raise it unnaturally then it's a penalty. Was absolutely nailed-on for me, and I don't appeal for everything

Igor won’t be back until late Feb.

I love this team and management. Fight, skill and character. I'm like a kid on Christmas eve waiting for Posh away now

Awful game, flat performance but we won. Accrington were awful just kicking us out of our stride most of the time. So happy we won. Needed that slice of luck with the assistant giving the penalty. Shame Lyle was sent off though but another three points in the bag.

Had a feeling something like that was coming, everyone was sounding too confident and dismissive of Accrington.

Sounds like we got away with one in the end, and it was a big win in terms of consolidating our position in the league and keeping up the promotion push.

Credit to the team for getting the job done by hook or by crook. Sounded to me like Bowyer’s subs probably should have been made earlier, particularly Reeves for Pratley.

We might have paid a high price for the win though, let’s hope we can get that red card over turned and/or accelerate our plans to bring in a striker.

Grant’s penalty practice last week looks all the more important in the light of today’s event.

  • So, on the basis that Taylor has 8 yellows and 1 straight red now, can some kind, more knowledgeable person tell me what the possible outcomes are now, if we appeal or don't appeal, please?
  • Is Igor fit yet, or can Billy Clark play as a striker?

Igor won’t be back until late Feb.
    Which year?

    No appeal, 3 game ban
Lost appeal, 3 game ban, or 4 if deemed frivolous (never seen this happen to anyone other than us)
Won appeal, no ban, Taylor picks up 2 more yellow cards soon then gets a 2 game ban anyway

Huge win and now just 4 points off top. Also opened up a 7 point gap to 7th now.

Disappointing that Taylor will now be missing for a few games, bad timing too given that we just let Ajose go on loan.

    Exactly what did Taylor do?

The Stanley defenders were indicating a back kick like Beckham's in WC. I saw kicks by defenders yet only the keeper got sent off for them.
Lyle Taylor will miss 3 matches now and no doubt another 2 when he gets to 10 cards.
Lyle have been excellent for Cafc BUT he needs to cut out the nonsense with the keepers at corners. Yet another goal ruled out for an infringement.

At least Grant can't leave this window !

    You're a ref, aren't you, Spankie?

What was your verdict of the sending off incident?

Sadly the players don’t match up to their owner, sad!

    We could do a swap?

    Everyone's a winner

  • Curbs used to say it was pointless teams like us appealing red cards - the big teams were the only ones that got them overturned.
