  • Can’t say it’s any surprise, we know what the mad mans like. He can count to three, and you never play more than 3 strikers. He’d probably snarl at me for owning 4 cars, can’t drive more than one at once after all. Same for shoes.

cant decide on Bowyers motive or is he just being honest. I do think though that with the squad we have there’s a lot of ‘we’ll show you’ towards Duchatelet. Partly this season but sadly the lack of contract signings, if he remains owner anyone under 35 can probably go to a trial day in the summer.

Bowyer won’t be here under the mad man next season that’s for sure.

i have a hunch that RD is doing everything he can do to make sure we don’t get promoted as the state of things I actually think we’d be worth less in the championship as the investment needed to be even remotely competitive would be far greater than the additional TV money.

  • What a flange you are Roland
  • Nobody on here has a clue about how RD thinks - lots of people claim to but his behaviour is so bizarre it's difficult to explain.

The more he destroys the club the less it's worth and his chances of selling it for the price he wants seems ever more remote.

If he cared about money that much he'd have sold up a long time ago.

He is so tight his duct taped shoes squeek as he walks. The reason he hasn't sold as we all know, is because the sale price is too high. Why would anyone over price the club sale value, if they did not care about money?
Not only this, but if it wasn't about making money why else did he buy us in the first place?
  • He sold Grant because he could, yet another way of annoying the supporters, what is 2m to him ,he is laughing at us,and probably having the best time of his miserable warped life.

Plus he doesn't do failure and certainly won't want to lose face. It's stubborn madness though but unfortunately not to the sociopathic, megalomaniac who is steering the once good ship CAFC, onto the rocks.

I'm not sure that Bowyer wants a career in management, feel that he's only doing it because he loves the club.

  • Gawd please please please we go up this season if not it will be a bloody orrid time with players, Mgt out of contract etc.......... Unless of course we are sold to others who want progression and upward movement of the club/team. RD has really shown his spitefullness, with a 2 finger salute of his old wrinkled hand to those who dared question or protest against his awful football socialist experiment, Belgian Bastard.

My Grandad a Dunkirk veteran never liked the capitulating Belgians and told me so on several occasions.
  • As I have said before,he does not care about the money,he resents the intrusions into his private life, and will do everything he can to antagonise supporters.regrettably he is doing just that, and we are powerless to do anything about it.
Why didn’t he cut the budget even more so Bowyer had to play the u23s? Why bother signing Bielik, Cullen, Taylor etc?

I'm not convinced that they will. Actually, no chance on Prem, Championship, possibly, but I would say it's no guarantee.

If he wants to take that risk, I can't say I blame him. And I'm sure he has an agent with their ear to the ground on this stuff. But I do still think a League One team in fourth is most likely the best he'll get right now.

This is obviously massively frustrating news. But I still believe it's in Bowyer's best interest at the moment to see the season out with us. If we get promoted his stock will go up, if we don't I think he can point to the selling of Karlan as the reason why.
Karlan leaving and not being anywhere near replaced has hugely hit us now, and could well be the difference between promotion and not.

However, believe me @SDAddick Bowyer is being kept a close eye on by many different clubs, they’ll have recognised the job he has done in such difficult circumstances, the role he has played in improving our current players, he would get a Championship club if we don’t go up this season.
Yeah, you're much more on the ground on this stuff than I am.

I think it's wholly possible that he'd walk into a Championship job in the summer. I'm just not convinced he'd walk in to one straight away, or that if he did, it would be a good one. It's why I say continuing with us is a cooperative game, he gets experience, we don't have to find another manager--assuming it's not too tough on him. And I do think there are things he can work on with us that will make him a better coach. If he can make us better at breaking down compact teams sitting deep, he will put himself ahead of a lot of coaches at or around his level, because it's something I often find lacking in the British game.

Also agree about Karlan, AND him not being adequately replaced, which you point out well.
  • So when is the next tour to Belgium happening? Time to try and force the old scrot to drop his asking price don’t you think?

IMHO there's almost zero interest in going to Belgium. Even with ROT having over 100 members there were never more than 10 people out at each visit. Pretty much the same folk each time, all self funded. Apathy has set in and we have become like STVV fans.
  • I'd point out the typo in the title but this dipstick doesn't deserve my concern.

If we don't go up it is down to one man. I have said this many times. The same applies to even if we do go up, it has nothing to do with Roland. He couldn't care less. How can you let Ajose, Grant and Clarke go, save on their wages which would as a guess be around 12-15k p/w, get in at least £1.5mil in transfer income and say you're not sanctioning another striker to be signed because we have Taylor (who can't be expected to do it all on his own), Vetokele (who is just coming back properly from a long term injury), and Parker (who is brand new to the team).

I'm getting so fed up with this debacle.

If promotion is not achieved, Bowyer is gone, he won't hang around.

Is there any point of us even trying to be promoted? Can you imagine the senile old **** giving the manager (whoever that might be) any more money to compete in a higher division? We’ll still be shopping in the Poundland sale whilst all the clubs around us are spending big on decent quality players - not forgetting losing any player who is anything half decent during both transfer windows.

As painful as it is to think about, I’ve come to accept that we’ll never move forward until this dreadful belgian lunatic is gone.

My grandad got gassed fighting in Belgium for that lot during WW1. I’m sure he’d be turning in his grave if he could see what Roland’s doing to the club (his post sacking bitterness aside).

However the proximity of the Premier League is a key consideration so that won’t be true.

Depends how deep your pockets are.

Having to start almost from scratch on the players front is not going to be cheap. If you go up you hope to have a core of players already and then add some to the mix, it's unlikely we'd have a player in contract that would start in the Championship (and be competitive), a whole new squad would be a very costly investment that early on.

Agree the premiership is that step nearer, but the working capital will be considerably more than now top have a chance of a top 6 finish.
  • You’d think I’d be used to Duchatelet and his slow motion euthanisation of the club and I’d just give a wistful shrug of the shoulders but this still hurts. I’m not usually a vengeful person but I’m beginning to have some pretty dark thoughts regarding the horrible old scrote.
  • The club is easier to sell in the Championship. It isn't even a debating point suggesting otherwise. If you buy the club preferring to be in league one, what would your reason for buying the club be? You don't have to buy it!
  • I'm sure I recall a recent comment by Bowyer about it being fortunate that Aribo was injured during the window thus preventing a sale.  Wonder if this was hypothetical or he had word from above to push/ tout a sale.
Spot on. It could have been worse. Have said it many times before but Duchatelet has never had any interest in promotion. It would simply increase his wage bill and require significant investment to avoid us being uncompetitive and risking a season long relegation battle which would lose him even more money. Finally, the game is up and there should be no more apologising for this complete and utter POS.

I don't think it is that simple. One thing we should have worked out about Duchatelet by now is that he knows less than nothing about football. He has had opportunities to strengthen key areas which would have had a very beneficial effect, but he always does the first bit of business then baulks at the end. That is why Duchatelet teams are always an injury or loss of form away from failure due to lack of balance in the squad.

This isn't new, it has been happening from day one! In the championship I remember games when the team the manager had to field was so weak, there was little point staying and watching the guaranteed 3-0  home defeat. That is a Duchatelet issue as I don't recall it happening before. Of course we got beat before, but knowing we would be beat because we had to say play 3 left backs and none of them much good! It is less of an issue in League One because the teams are not as good, but we have gone into games significantly weaker than our best side would be.

Of course, Duchatelet would defend himself by saying, he pays the money and loses the money, but my point is, why go into football and lose a lot of money and cost yourself chances of success by not investing just a little bit more when the opportunity arises to get yourself over the line. Lets be honest, spending half of the Grant money which was a bonus would make us about 80% for promotion if done well, and we have a management team who you would back to spend it well. But the same could be said in every full Duchatelet season when you analyse it. His mentality means his teams will always be a little bit short at best.

  • The man is nothing but a Hoofw***ing Bunglec**t. The moment he sods off cannot come quick enough. I’m not holding my breath - it’s going to be a lot longer than we all hope.
