Playing towards the Covered End (apologies!)

  • Once upon a time we’d all walk around to the other end at half time to be at the end we were kicking towards, no problem about which way we we’re kicking then.
What? Read this about 4 times and still don’t have a clue what it means.

Before segregation, or the non-league way.

  • Generally, teams try to kick towards there own fans in the second half.
There was an interesting chapter on it in The Secret Footballer.
Exactly what I was thinking. So highly likely to happen whoever wins the toss?

In my view it ceased to be the covered end years ago, possibly when the seats went in or shortly after. The good old covered end days are long gone.
Will always be the Covered End

At the valley there are two goals, you can’t miss them, one in front of the Covered End and one in front of the away end. You used to be able to walk all around the ground, either along the east terrace or via the car park. Whichever goal charlton was kicking to each half, what seemed like the majority of us went to stand at that end
  • Mods, please change the title of this thread. I am offended by the COVERED END being re-named the North Stand.
Mods, I deeply offended the CUPBOARD END being re-named as the Covered End

Can I be the first to say I don't care what way we kick in what half, because I am usually asleep.

There have been plenty that have, usually wearing red shirts.
