If CARD didn't exist. If protests never occured

How much worse would the situation be?

Roland probably would have forgotten about this 2% part of his life.

Most likely would be in league 2 (best case scenario)

There would be a sofa on every corner of the ground.

We would lose 0-4 at home every other week and then be forced to dance soon as the full time whistle blows...against our will.

Our manager would probably be an ex Sunday league assistant from "the network".

The Jimmy seed stand would be renamed "The Roland suite".

The west stand would be renamed "Meires stand"

The covered end would get named"Weird customers hehe"

We would mostly have inexperienced 16 years in the 1st team.

Katrien would pay customers to come and watch a game.

Due to the extreme lack of ticket sales or anything else income based...every single member of staff would have been let go.

The valley would have been a ghost town. To the point where couples might just get away with having sex on the pitch just before the 3pm kick off...

  • Roland’s thinking: Champions League Football

Reality thinking: Probably the same as protests don’t affect him
  • Dave21, is this your preview of the 20/21 season ?
  • More likely we wouldn't be with RD anymore as he would have lost interest, not had excuses as to why we went down/protests putting people off etc. etc. and sold us 18 months ago
  • Nobody knows as it's now clearly evident that nobody understands RD.
  • The problem is RD lost interest when Katrien Meire left but he still won't put pen to paper. Only he knows why he doesn't cut his losses and take 30 million and buy a new pair of shoes.

Nobody understands him - logic disappeared a long time ago.

Roland would have started coming to games, seen how bad it all was and that it was going to cost him a fortune in the long run if things didn’t change, got rid of the woman that brought in that loud music to crossbars which he couldn’t dance to, taken the sofa back to his house in Belgium, hired a decent manager, backed him with the money and resources he needed, we’d be in the PL by now and Roland would have sold up and taken his profits.
  • As I put on another thread Roland would have moved Charlton to an online operation saving so many costs. Efl thought it fit and proper to take 25% share. No bottled water needed.
  • If there were no protests we would likely still have Meire here talking nonsense and making more false promises, with the full backing of Duchatelet.  The protests made life uncomfortable for her at The Valley, and most probably was a huge factor in her decision to leave the club.Meire leaving was the catalyst that prompted Duchatelet to put the club up for sale.

Has the EFL selected its next CEO yet? Can only think Roland’s recent outbursts won’t have helped her chances.

  • We would be exactly where we are now, except without Roland pretending to try and sell, and blaming the protests for the non-sale.
