Bumped into some Italian Charlton Fans

Before the game today, (from Roma) they’d starting supporting Charlton in September, one of the lads was wearing a Di Canio shirt.

Went to Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea play, thought it was expensive, and the atmosphere sterile, so tried out Charlton, and love it, thought it was what English football should be , explained to them that if we make the playoff final, its played at Wembley, they didn’t know that and were well up for it, see you at Wembley lads!

  • We had a couple of Germans next to us.
  • They’re making sure they get in before Brexit
  • A group of foreign lads behind us. I wouldn't bet too much on it but think they were swedish. The language sounded Scandinavian from my very limited knowledge.
  • Spaghetti botherers
  • They stood right in front of me and my dad in the north upper. Think they normally stand a few rows in front of us but moved back a bit today. They were very passionate and in the second half them four and us were the ones starting a lot of the chants towards the end in the H block when the atmosphere was a bit flat. Celebrated with them at the end when the final whistle too, they were very happy with the win. Chatted with them a bit after the match and had a pretty similar conversation as you did about how long they'd been coming etc. Top blokes and look forward to seeing them again at next home game.
  • Not quite as fancy but I took a season ticket holder from  East  Fife to the game today,  I now have an invitation to  East Fife witch I immediately wander how many ground hoppers have been there.

Not Roma if wearing a Di Canio shirt, that's for sure.
    Totally right from @Addickted
They may have been from Rome but the Di Canio shirt would mark them out as Lazio fans not Roma.
Don't even think it could be a mix as the fans from both clubs hate each other with a passion and Di Canio was very much associated with Lazio and the Curva Nord Ultras of the Stadio Olympico during his time there as a player.

Not seen a game at east fife but been to the ground. I was working in Scotland about theee years ago and had a couple of free days. So drove up to St Andrews from Stirling and visited a few grounds. Bay view I would imagine is cold on a January day. Three open sides and near the sea.

    Pornhub?  :-)
    Ha!
Reminds me of John Candy’s line to deceive the Swedish guard in Splash...

  • Went to our PSF at East Fife years ago. Was in Methil, not a beautiful part of Scotland.

I'm not much travelled, but I have somehow identified that accent as Yardi Yardi Yar.  It covers Sweden, Denmark, Norway and perhaps Finland?

They produced two different programmes for the game as well.
