My 6 year old has managed to disable his iPad, tried all the online tips like a restore or reset but iTunes is not downloading the software and keeps dropping out, anyone know how to do a hard factory reset?
Hold the off button (side) and the button on the front together that should do it.
Tried that, keeps going back to screen that says iPad disabled, connect to iTunes, when I connect to iTunes to start the restore process it just drops out after 5 minutes

Macro's car par now! and in case you don't recognise me, I'll be wearing 3 button waistband 24" flared trousers, 3" stacked heels with a brass insert on the toecap. 😜😜

* Turn your internet router completely off and on again.
* When everything’s back online, make sure your computers operating system is up to date with any software updates.
* Specifically make sure that any iTunes updates on your computer are downloaded and installed.
* Connect your iPad to the computer.
* Presuming your computers iTunes software ‘sees’ the iPad, then access the iPads settings, general, reset, erase all content and settings.
* iPad should return to new / blank status, and you then have to set it up from scratch.
If after that it’s still dropping out after 5min, then I’d be stumped too.
