The Netherlands went 18 years (1996-2014 I think) always having a ‘van’ player in the team
That's totally believable.  If you'd said it was without a 'van' I'd have found it hard to believe.

The ball burst in the 1946 final involving Charlton, and it burst in a league match Charlton played a week later, and in the 1947 cup final too.
And in the 1998 Play-off final

A total of 30 goals has been scored by Denmark at World Cups ('86, '98, '02, '10,  '18).
None of them from outside the box.

When Real Madrid lost at home to Ajax, it was the first time since 1994, that they'd got knocked out, after winning the away leg.
Back in 1994, my home town team, Odense, lost 3-2 at home, but won 2-0 at Bernabeau.
A day I'll never forget. The 2nd goal scored in the 92nd minute.
