  • Phillips: 8 - another very commanding performance
Dijksteel: 6 - gave the ball away a few times but has great powers of recovery
Bauer: 7.5 - had his hands full with The Beast but did very well and nearly scored a second at the end
Pearce: 8 - strong throughout and the unlikely matchwinner
Purrington: 6.5 - solid as ever
Cullen: 8 - held the midfield together and really is a cut above
Pratley: 6- worked hard and did ok
Aribo: 7 - some good moments, although not much came off for him on the night. Missed him a little further back in central midfield
Lapslie: 6.5 - didn’t do much with the ball but got around the pitch well to deny Wycombe space
Taylor: 7 - didn’t get much service but worked hard for the team
Vetokele: 7 - better from Igor and had two decent efforts on goal
Referee: 7 - did pretty well. A clean game

Referee: 7 young ref who did well.

A master class on how to defend your goal, with Head Teacher Pearce assisted by his Deputy Bauer leading.

I know Pratley isn’t popular, but he does add physicality which was important in supporting the kids in midfield.

I was at the game. Genuinely interested to know why you marked the referee far less than any player.

No big contestual decisons. Totally consistent with his decision making. After the second foul on Taylor by their number 2, who he warned, the ref cautioned him for the next and third foul on Taylor. Also rightly cautioned one of their defenders late in the game for a tactical foul on Taylor. Not sure what you expect from a referee.

I was at the game too. Let a lot of clear fouls go, completely ignored Akinfenwa constantly pushing Bauer and Pearce around. Compete failure to book Wycombe players when a couple of cynical  fouls were made. Were quite a dirty team and the referee failed to book them early enough. He booked the player that fouled Taylor because it was the most obvious booking I've ever seen, not good refereeing, just a simple, obvious decision. I expect what we've had in more recent games excluding Plymouth where I've ranked the referees higher than a 5. To control the game and recognize constant fouling is worthy of a booking.
  • Thought the ref was pretty good......would have given him a 7.
