Bower needs to play sarr and Pearce together in a couple. Then he knows an injury to a centre half won't be a problem as the important games come.
Maybe it'd be different now, but when they played together earlier in the season, whoever played right centre back looked very uncomfortable. I think Bielik deputies for Bauer and Sarr for Pearce (or Pearce for Sarr).
The only other option is 3-5-2 Phillips Bauer Pearce Sarr Solly Williams Cullen Aribo Purrington Taylor Vetokele.
Reeves for Williams after 65 if still chasing the game.
Bielik who I'm not sure how fit he is, gets another game to get fitter, plus judging by the 8 crosses Dijksteel attempted in the last home game with only 2 coming off, let's see if Solly can emulate the lovely cross for Taylor's goal against Plymouth. Purrington can just give it a go and deliver the crosses.
If Luton bring their A game it may be a case of 5-3-2 if under the cosh but that's the whole point of this formation, it's flexible and the backs adapt.
If we don't win we freewheel to the playoffs anyway.
Ps. Ben 6.5 Purrington to surprise with a 7 5 performance at wing back !
There’s absolutely no need for it, we are keeping clean sheets with two centre backs and two full backs why would we add another centre back to the XI.
It's wrong to say that Sarr is more prone to give the ball away. As part of our set pattern of play he's asked to play out from the back. And he's asked to do that because he has immense talent for it. I was a centre back for 36 years but I never once got caught on the ball.....because I was never good enough to want the ball or get the ball. Sarr is a brave player, playing to instruction. Sometimes it will go wrong.. .that's life.
Very surprised at the amount of comments for Pearce over Sarr and i like Pearce. What does Sarr have to do to get in favour? He's been our best defender this season. Play him.

Agree, that's why in my post before I said Sarr come's back in as we need Naby's attacking abilities against Luton in our flexible 4-4-2.
The 3-5-2 was the next option if Lee see Luton as a one off match against the Champions elect.
CB partnerships are what build clean sheets and a tight defence. I think the view or assumption that we play Sarr when need an artist and Pearce when we are in a war, might be a bit Championship Manager!

This was when BeckenBauer was out injured and before BeckenSarr's reputation started to build.
The back line that day was:
Dijksteel | Pearce | HRS BeckenSarr the Enforcer | Solly
Before the game the opinion was that the left side - with Solly on the wrong flank and Naby thought of as a joke - was going to be our weak link.
Instead it was the right side that caused the problems because the skipper kept drifting too far over to his dominant side and dragged Iron Willy across with him.
I think the only way we'd have those two in the same side is if we play a back three (Paddy Bauer on the right, skipper in the middle, Naby on the left) or a normal back four with Sarr in front in the Bielik-type role.
In Lord Bowyer we trust (but I'd still have the Enforcer as my first choice )
Comments
We we can always bring on Pearce/Sarr and put Sarr up front if we need a goal.
We are Charlton, which means sooner or later we'll have an injury and Bowyer won't have a decision to make.
I love Pearcey but wouldn't drop Sarr.
Think the horses for courses approach that Bowyer has taken so far is about right. Gives them both a rest and both some game time in case needed.
The question comes when we are in the playoffs who gets the nod. I'd still go for Sarr
