Just watched the last episode of season 2 on Disney plus. Won’t spoil it but for any Star Wars fans it’s f*****g brilliant.
The whole series has been really good.
Thought exactly the same. Cracking episode and series.
BTW, did you watch to the end of the credits, as there was a bit more at the end?
I did, looking forward to that series next year.
Curious to know if its basically Season Three or a series in its own right
I think its going to be its own series although I did read that they were writing a series 3 for Mando
Yeah series three of The Mandalorian is due in 12 months, but nobody seems to be sure if this other show is separate or not. We've got five other shows to worry about anyway!
The Mandalorian is everything some idiot like me wants from star wars and I'm a million miles away from a fan, but I get all the little nudges and am properly into it.
No spoilers from me, I paid the Disney subscription just for this
With Filoni and Favreu at the helm, this is the sort of quality you get served up. Fan boys, tipping a wink at the past, while proving that the Galaxy far far away has plenty of room for characters and narrative outside of the Skywalker Saga.
I am hoping that this pair are at least heavily consulted on all upcoming shows and films. Theirs is a winning formula. Suspect Rogue Squadron will be in the wrong timeline for me, but will do my best to find out and be keeping it all crossed.
I enjoyed the Mandalorian, but I honestly think people are going a bit OTT about the finale. It was a good series, with a good ending and a nice little surprise, but it wasn’t that good. Some people are pretty much coming in their pants about it. Just seems a bit much to me.

What else did you want you madman? It was brilliant had tension, action, some red meat for even casual fans and hard-core fans alike and a proper ending

And Gina Carano
It was pretty good. You obviously thought it was a bit more than that! (I hope you changed your underpants afterwards.) 😂😉
Loved both series, so many good things that the sequels were missing. That and Rogue One are the best star wars material in decades. Trying to catch up on Clone Wars and Rebels now to be ready for the new shows coming out.
One negative I will say is, I wish they had gone with a different character in the finale reveal, there's so many more options out there now and they went back to the old trope. Just wish they'd taken it in a different direction. Was a very cool scene though
Was hoping for it to go in a Thrawn direction as they teased it earlier on.
I think that will be more the Ahsoka spin-off or possibly one of the others. Rumour has it that Disney plan a Netflix/Marvel style "shared story" where the individual shows all end up getting a big crossover series like The Defenders (but hopefully better.)
Thrawn would definitely be a bad guy big enough to justify that.

it had everything the new movies should have had - a sense of going into the unknown/space western with a lot of heart, super cool light saber battles that meant something, call backs and one or two characters from previous films and then a certain Jedi coming to save the day. Like that’s really all Star Wars fans wanted and have wanted for the last 22 years and they finally got it.
Trying to think of a way to get this across without explicitly spoiling... Absolutely love the character baby Yoda had a little wobble talk with at the end
Rogue one and the Mandalorian have been the best "new" star wars that Disney have put out, bit more adult audience focused and not a "Rian fckoffstarwarsfansIhateyouandtheentirefranchisehaha Johnson" piece of sh!t.
Be nice to get more films and shows like this but, it's Disney, they'll go with whatever makes them the most money and kids like their toys. Fair enough.
Found this second season was a bit slow to start and was going to be a fun family road trip adventure, but man it picked up and this last episode is what a lot of fans have wanted to see. Although the beskar plot armour got a bit tiresome (hey look no one can shoot at the massive gaps between the armour and those famous swords that can cut through anything can't cut through this! Hang on, how did we lose the mandalore wars again?!?!? )
Be interesting to see what happens with season 3, read some rumours thst maybe it's not this that's filming and instead it's the Fett series, allegedly some arguments from Pedro Pascal as well about wanting to get more face time and remove the helmet more. Either way, as long as it keeps up what we've already seen, it'll be decent.
Be awkward for them but would love for Disney to say the sequels werent canon and just do it all over again
They don't even have to go as far as that. The sequals should have been set much nearer RotJ so they could just do another 3 films. The problem is Mark, Carrie and Harrison would of had to have been in them.
I can see both sides. If it had been a stand alone film, even one set in the Star Wars universe, but separate from the "main" story it would probably be much more widely accepted/liked.
As a film I really like it. But having it be a follow up to The Force Awakens and with such a different view and approach to any other SW movies did not do it any favours.
I'm all for a bit of deconstruction and commentary in the right circumstances but I'm not sure the middle of a trilogy and part of an ongoing series/story was it.
Except, the entire premise of the film is that they’re running out of fuel which has never ever ever been a thing in Star Wars. I mean, luke managed to fly a tiny x wing all the way to dagoba. Let’s forget snoke’s pathetic death. It just felt like a Star Wars film by some one who had never watched Star Wars
The Last Jedi isn’t that bad, and if Disney had held its ground a bit, would have opened up the last film a lot better, instead they panicked and did a fan flick

My son tells me they are planning a spin off series for Boba Fett?
Should be some crackers in that lot.

The fight with the red guards was cool as shit though
