Up till the last few years would have been the footy World Cup closely followed by The Ashes but now that’s swapped and in third the Wimbledon Championships
Seeing sport live gives me so much more than sport on television. I guess that makes County Cricket and non-League football my favourites. The World Cup is the best TV sport but I prefer the earlier rounds involving non-European sides.
Has to be the US Masters for me - a unique sporting event in terms of tradition and the test it provides.
Invitational, same venue every year. Is there more to it than that HiutB? Don't see it as that different to the other majors myself, and it is a "Johnny come lately" being a mere 85 years old...
I think it's a better event than the other majors because of the venue - easier to trace the narrative. The Open has more history but doesn't produce the same tension for me.
There are tougher courses than Augusta but the closing holes do provide for an exciting finish. I've loved the event since I was a kid.
1) The Ashes 2) FIFA Mens World Cup 3) Ryder Cup 4) Cheltenham National Hunt Festival 5) The Masters 6) All England Lawn Tennis Championship 7) The Open 8) UEFA Europion Championship 9) Grand National 10) The Wisden Trophy (Away)
