Well done, this is clever thinking. It does seem the only way to effect RD is to embarrass him in his own country. He has no concern about what the UK thinks of him.
Good move by CARD. I doubt that the embassy or the Belgian government can do anything to directly put pressure on Roland to relinquish his hold on the club or provoke one of his rants. However it keeps his mismanagement of the club in the news even as the team is doing well.
Anything that pisses Roland off has got to be a good thing. If the Belgium press make much of this it will really get to him. Well done all concerned .
Well done CARD!! I truly hope this rattles his cage once again.
Public humiliation in his own country (through the press) seems to be the major irritant to him. No doubt he will rush to defend his image once again and without too much forethought provide us with some further amusement.
The sooner Duchatelet is exorcised from our proud club the better.
It will no doubt wind RD up, what surprised me was how well informed Alain the diplomat was, a couple of times he answered our sentances when it came to our owners behaviour and capers the last few years.
It was clear that Rolands antics do not go unoticed by his fellow countryman.
I must say I am pleasantly surprised at the responsiveness of the Embassy. The other way round, British Embassy in Brussels, they would dismiss us with a sniff.
I think the press release, its tone and the imaginative and resourceful way in which this has been put together is nothing short of superb. Well done to everyone involved. And I would extend that "well done" to the Embassy and M. Leroy as well. All deserve credit.
It does what it needs to do, perfectly. Delivers an astonishing and surprising blow with an iron fist, wrapped in a velvet glove. I can imagine people thinking, "those Charlton fans are incredibly controlled and patient - if that were my club, I'd be doing something much worse..."
And what can he do? Attack his property and he can complain to the police "arrest these thugs". Verbally abuse him and he can go to the press "shame these hooligans". But what can he do as a defence against this? "Those Charlton fans, you know, they had a MEETING. And WROTE a PRESS RELEASE".
But I have to single out the bit I like the best.
The representatives also assured Mr Leroy that the coalition had had nothing to do with the graffitiing of premises linked to Duchâtelet earlier this year, and no knowledge of who was responsible, but explained how it would not be a surprise if other groups took an increasingly militant approach should Duchâtelet remain at Charlton.
What does this really say? "You know that graffiti? It wasn't us. But if he doesn't sell up soon, we'll do it again".

The 'D' might have been a bit of a squeeze.

Bloody well done CARD......fantastic idea, I raise my glass to all those who contributed to this project.
Any chance that the embassy can ask the local mental health services to drop by for an assessment?
Just clearing his throat.

He accepts offers....then he changes his mind and rejects!?!
Important contracts have still not yet been renewed.
When questioned how much he wants for Charlton...he refused to give an answer.
He just wants something for nothing.
A cold spineless businessman that gave us fans no option.... then to forcefully go against him and embaress him on his home turf.
He has given us no effort whatsoever.
If he knew his input was going to be minimal....then why buy us?
Secondly, why put an inexperienced CEO in charge?!?
Well done CARD

Love it!
