We have a limited pool of teams we've achieved promotion against, hopefully Sunderland can draw level with Carlisle on 2 promotions!

Based on that shit shower, the final is tomorrow!
Sunderland look extremely difficult to score against. If we reach the final it will not be easy.
Would've preferred Pompey for this reason. We have two relative weaknesses - 1) Our full backs are merely decent at League 1 level, not outstanding, and 2) we have at times struggled to break down stubborn defences - it's the reason we only drew rather than won our home match vs Sunderland.

Weirdly, I think 2 has been less of an issue since Grant left, but we're still not as clinical in front of goal as we could be.
  • Let’s get to the final first. Big night tomorrow👊

    Carlisle is 3 promotions.
  • Abysmal game and a number of players stick out as being absolute shite. That Hawkins. Jesus, he looks conference South at best. Cattermole looks lost in a team of tier 3 players. And Honeyman - what does he do? Expected far better over both legs to be honest.
  • Not a great game. Pompey looked so limited and didn't do enough. Congratulations to Sunderland who deserved it overall. Did they have a decent chance all game though? Nothing to fear for us whatsoever - but we have to finish the job tomorrow. I'm glad its Sunderland as they will play football, not Jacket's brand of anti-football!
  • All lower placed play off teams have beaten the higher placed ones in this series of play off matches.
Also the team playing away in the second leg has got through to the final.

Portsmouth have really not portrayed themselves in glowing colours, supporters kicking a sunderland player, offering out the players, and there captain Pitman screaming and swearing at a poor ball boy, the inbred who tried to get on the pitch and fight a sunderland player is the highlight of this match
    HOLD ME BACK LADS!
  • I've been serenely confident we are going up this season since about March, but after tonight I am filled with existential dread that we are going to fuck it right up.
  • Two very poor sides and I am not just saying this, Doncaster are better than both. Results will say otherwise but I can only go from what I've seen.

Roll on tomorrow, I went to Shrewsbury last season with no confidence and as a result felt as cool as a cucumber going into the game. This time I am full of expectation and hope so feel like crap.

    One more sleep  :#

Of course anything can go wrong, as things often do with us, but we should make it through tomorrow and then win promotion.
  • Sunderland did a professional job , made Pompey look ordinary , they will give us a good game if we get there

Always knew it would be Sunderland at Wembley and booked my ticket home months ago in time for the Final, confident deep down we would be there and nick promotion against all the odds,

Now just too sick with anxiety and stress to consider the next 24 hours, never mind Wembley. You just know it ain't going to be a controlled 2-0 home victory with no drama, upsets or balls ups. This is Charlton, even with Lee Bowyer in charge.
  • It might be. There will of course be a different dynamic in that Doncaster won't be coming with a draw as their primary objective. I think their game plan may be to ensure above all that there is only a goal in it until the second half which will ramp up the pressure on us. But you never know, they may seek to try to catch us cold.

All I know is, all things being equal, we should beat them. But they will be giving everything. They can't make their players better than ours though!

Following their Semi-Final victory over Portsmouth, the Black Cats will face Charlton Athletic or Doncaster Rovers in the Final on Sunday 26 May 2019 (KO 3pm) in a bid to reach the Championship.

Jack Ross’ side will discover their opponents on Friday when the two above sides meet in their Play-Off Semi-Final second leg at the Valley.

SAFC have been allocated 37,700 tickets for East End of Wembley Stadium and tickets will be sold from the North Stand round to the South Stand.

I'm guessing that the 15k or so who stayed away from their first leg will now suddenly be interested again.
  • Same ends as 1998 if I’ve looked at maps correctly
  • are they really selling six per season ticket holder/member?
  • are they really selling six per season ticket holder/member?

    Cat 2 - £62 Adults, £46.50 Young Adult, £31 Concession

    HOW TO BUY

    • As is standard practice for the majority of clubs reaching a Wembley final, Ticketmaster will administer all tickets bought online and over the telephone on behalf of the club.
    • Supporters are advised that there will be NO tickets available to purchase from the Stadium of Light ticket office or through the club’s existing online ticketing site.
    • Supporters must activate their account with Ticketmaster.
    • Supporters that activated their Ticketmaster account ahead of the Checkatrade Trophy Final do NOTneed to activate it again.
    • Supporters need to have their SAFC customer number in order to set up their account. SAFC season card holders have their customer number listed on their season card for easy reference. It can also be found by logging into existing ticketing accounts by clicking here.
    • Accounts can be grouped together during the activation process, allowing friends and family members to apply for seats in the same area (there is a maximum number of nine people per group permitted).
    • For more information on how to activate your account, click here.

Ticket sales will be split into THREE separate phases subject to availability.

PHASE ONE: 12 noon on Friday 17 May ‘til 8.30am on Monday 20 May

    • Season card holders
    • UK and International members

Supporters qualifying for this period of sale are guaranteed ONE ticket as long as they purchase before the second sale phase.

PHASE TWO: 9am on Monday 20 May ‘til 8.30am on Tuesday 21 May

    • Season card holders
    • UK and International members

Subject to availability, season card holders and UK and International members can purchase up to SIX additional tickets per membership number, and up to a maxiumum of nine per transaction [should supporters link accounts with one another].

    PHASE THREE: TBC

    • Subject to availability, further communication will follow.
  • So that's going to be chaos then. You can't buy through the club and CAN ONLY BUY through ticketmaster.
  • That's Sunderland details but feel that would be better than queuing so hope we adopt the same approach but 4 per season ticket holder.

Obviously it's their details, we haven't got to the final yet!

I posted it as i'd expect the ticket prices and ticketmaster info to be exactly the same for us.
  • Needless to say Sunderland fans aren't happy at the ticket selling process. 6 per person is crazy in phase 2. Phase 2 is the exact same as phase 1......just the same people are allowed to buy even more.

Sunderland clearly just want to get them all sold as quick as possible.
