I've just done some work for Sky and managed to get a friends and family discount on my TV package (it's usually free for staff but as a consultant I wasn't eligible).
I'm not sure how easy it will be to negotiate but here's the current packages and prices available to Friends and Family. Unless they have a crazy Black Friday sale, you won't get better (until they review in September), but might be a good basis for anyone trying to renegotiate currently:
- The Complete Bundle - 42% off - £45pm for everything Sky Q has to offer including every dedicated sports channel in UHD (including free Netflix) - Ultimate Mix Bundle - 36% off - £35pm for everything Sky Q has to offer except for Sky Sports (including free Netflix) - Sky TV - 50% off - £11pm - Over 300 Channels including Sky Atlantic and Documentaries on Sky Q. No movies, box sets, on demand or Netflix
Hope that helps.
*Edit: I realise that there's something like 6 different packages, so you might be able to get cheaper if you mix and match certain things, but £45 for everything is the best available at the moment.
It will be worth it. I was with them for donkeys years. When you phone you will get through to a call centre who I told money was tight and I was thinking of cancelling. They will offer to put you through to a team that can do deals or another who can deal with cancellations. Ask for the latter. Be nice and just say money is tight and you have to cut all your bills.
Anyone know what network they use for their mobile and have good/bad experience with them?
They piggyback off o2. Had them before changing recently and never had any issues apart from the amount of crap marketing they send you and calls trying to get others in your household to sign up. Service wise though, good.

Have been with Sky Mobile for 18 months now. Has been generally good. Only issue was when the O2 network went down however many months ago that was. Never had a marketing message or phone call from them in 18 months.
realised last month that I was paying £103 / month. This included Phone / broadband, Movies and the general package. No sport.
I was put through to "retention" and the latest quote is £69 including movies and sport. I am due to call them back to say still not acceptable as equivalent BT is £54...
We ended up at £61 (down for £103). This includes removing free phone calls from my landline (not sure when we last made a call on that) and £2.50 / month we were still paying for 1471 callback, but with a new router / broadband plan which will more than triple current bandwidth (much needed).
Effectively a 40% discount with an improved product - worth the call....

I was an existing Sky Q customer and allowed to re-contract to what's called the Black Friday Mega Bundle for 18 months. - Sky Entertainment £12 - Ultimate On Demand £6 (Sky Boxsets and Netflix) - Sky Kids £1 - Sky Sports £18 (the whole lot) - Sky Cinema £5.50 - Sky Sports HD £2 - Sky HD £0 - Sky Q Multiscreen pack £13
All coming in at £57.50 a month on a new 18 months contract. Everything Sky can offer apart from any other premium paid for channels.
I've been a customer according to there records since 2011.
The way to get this deal is to give them a call and ask for the Black Friday Mega Bundle at the link above. Doing this online on the Sky website I was expecting this to come in at £60 a month with a £20 up front fee, instead it's £57.50 and a £10 up front fee having spoken to them.
If you're a new customer you can probably just do this online, if you're an existing customer you'll need to ring them.
There's other bundles available in the link which also come in a bit cheaper too or for those who don't have Sky Q.
Just had my bank statement and see that i'm paying £75.50pm. Thats for SKY TV, Entertainment package (inc box sets), Sports and HD. I dont have broadband as dont want it with SKY. I have been with them for donkeys years and never haggled.
What are people paying for similar packages as I am sure I am paying too much.
That is where you go wrong. I have been with them for years as well, but I get a 18 month contract and a month before it expires I phone them, (I have Sky phone as well, so it is free) and haggle the price down from what they quote, they expect it

Sounds good - were you coming to the end of your contract, or is "re-contracting" open to all?

Was going to ask the same. Our contract is up in March. We pay 80ish for Sky Q (with broadband/phone and sky sports and HD - no box sets as they took it off last time we negotiated which is feckin annoying) would like to get it back and this looks like a good deal, but only if we can renegotiate early. thanks @MartinCAFC

It had 6 months to run as I did the same last year with the package I was on.
Have logged into account on sky and it just suggests the Black Friday addition of Netflix and box sets in HD for £6 instead of £12. We pay £86 inc UHD, sports and sky Q silver with the additional device thing. Pay Netflix separately.
Last month my Sky went from £106.50 to £130 a month, when I phoned to ask why they said my contract had run out so go straight onto current deal. Had a moan about they should of told me my current contract had run out and then managed to negotiate a new 12 month contract for £97.50.I have everything including HD, multiroom and broadband. After reading earlier post today about the black Friday deal I called Sky to ask for it and now I have everything plus Netflix for £86.50 on an 18 month contract.

No I'm TV only with Sky.
I also saw that same offer on my account but it's not as good as the offer as though you were a new customer which is why I suggest it's better to give them a call and explain what you've seen is available and for £60 and ask if they can do you that offer.
I was paying £85.30 month for Sky (had just gone up £6 this month) with a separate monthly Netflix subscription of £11.99, so £97.29 for the two.
Just rang Sky up and am now getting a monthly subscription payment of £77.50 which includes Netflix and Sky Box Sets which I didn't have previously. I could have probably tried haggling for a further reduction as I am paying slightly more for Sky Cinema and Sky Sports than that quoted earlier by @MartinCAFC but a ~£20/month reduction was a good 5 minutes worth of work on a Sunday morning.
Spoke to them earlier - I’m now paying £84.50 for everything I can think of (internet, tv, all sports HD, HD for everything, Boxsets/Netflix (HD), Cinema & kids.

I think I might give them a call, I'm paying £95/m for Sky Q with no broadband or phone line.
Ive been a customer for about 25 years and they have never offered me a discount on any package.

Could you pm me more details?
