brilliant for us... but.... what was the safety concern raised by safety officer and police before the pens that meant we got to do the shootout in front of the covered end?

great decision!
That was a bit weird, considering the penalty shoot outs that take place all over the world in highly charged atmospheres. Very odd to see 2 policemen on the pitch after extra time with the match officials. Apparently it was because the JS was split, which seems odd as the WBA/Villa shootout was at a split end too, and a more fractious one too!
From what they said on tv, it sounded like this was a decision made before the game. Mind you, the Donny captain seemed pretty pissed off about it at the toss up before the pens.
From the coveted end the steward/ policing line seemed pretty line and broken at times down the Doncaster side. Great advantage to us but with limited police steward numbers I can understand the decision.

Either way, a good move by the Met
The margins didn’t go our way last year, they did tonight
Officials and players need to be as near to the tunnel as possible.
