In my opinion the general public is just going by perceived “bigness” and name recognition. I suspect the general public forgot there even is a final. No one cares about L1 except the fans whose clubs are in it. I doubt seriously any non-Sunderland or Charlton fans have spent one minute looking into which club is playing better.
