Regardless of memorials still unnaceptable to get a cheap laugh at the expense of two young children. Delete the post Golf. We should be celebrating tonight not bickering.

Honestly struggling to see what at best a few thousand Addicks clapping for 60 seconds will do as this doesn’t seem to have picked up any traction on the Sunderland side. I doubt it will get a mention on the TV coverage, even.
Think a pre match or half time presentation would be far more appropriate to raise awareness and then it can get some dedicated coverage and exposure.
I'm REALLY saddened as well as shocked to read some of these comments from Lifers that I've come to regard as like minded "friends" ...well, on the whole.
Of course, the emphasis tomorrow must be on supporting our team to what we all hope & pray will be the start of an new, exciting chapter in the history of our famous football club. And I'm certain the players, Bow & Jacko will be as proud of us as we are of them, whatever the final outcome.
But that doesn't mean we can't spare ONE MINUTE of the 90 or more to reflect on another reason why we are called a "family club" and to spend just 60 seconds thinking of those who cannot be with us on this auspicious occasion.
Some of us might be thinking and applauding the memories of family members or friends who have sadly fallen by the wayside and who we hope are somewhere out there supporting our lads just the same.
Some may be thinking of those who are sadly too ill to be where we know their hearts will be...with us at Wembley.
But others...those of us who followed the desperate plight of the Jeffreys family when little Jack was struck down with this terrible disease , as was young Bradley from Sunderland before him, will also be thinking of 2 families who lost far more than a game of football...and of their beloved sons so cruelly taken before their lives had barely started.
Shame on you if you begrudge this fleeting moment in your day for interrupting your enjoyment tomorrow.
My thoughts will be with both families but I'll be looking at our 5 grandkids who are fortunate to be part of the Charlton family tomorrow, thankful that they are healthy.....

We have a memorial each season to remember those who have passed away and that seems far more appropriate given that it's dedicated to everyone.
If people want to clap on 7 minutes that's up to them but that's no reason to judge those that don't. There are plenty of good causes that don't get publicity.

Its also a damned good opportunity to show both clubs in a good light
Play-Off Finals are always made out about the end prize with fans focusing solely on the outcomes of their own clubs
Two Teams coming together to remember these poor two boys would be a positive message to the rest of the Footballing world that this still is only a game and that there is a genuine connection between both Charlton and Sunderland regardless of the latter potentially seeking "revenge" for what happened on that memorable day in 1998
A lot of fans of a lot of clubs here in England alone could certainly learn from that!!!
I must admit I was completely unaware of this before the game, I would've 100% joined in as it sounded a lovely thing to do! The timing of the Sunderland goal probably didn't help

If that's the case, there were better ways of making the point.

Big game tomorrow
I shall be standing up applauding for all my worth at 3.07 tomorrow.

Unless they put the pictures up on a big screen, don’t know if that’s going to happen?
Unless I'm proved wrong, of course...
