Davo , thankyou for all the time and effort you’ve put into this, Roland will be gone some day, and you will have played a part in it, take a well earned break.
Many, many thanks for your huge role in all of the fundraising, protesting and behind the scenes planning of our goal: to rid the club of the canker at the heart. A pleasure to have met you, whilst helping in many humble ways,to get the message to all CAFC fans. Enjoy the slight relief of stepping down!
A well-deserved retirement. Thanks for your organisation and drive. CARD's impact has been significant in getting shot of Meire and persuading Duchatelet to sell up. The fact that Duchatelet's greed hasn't got us over line yet is his fault, not CARD's. We know it will happen one day.
Very genuine thoughts and reasons. No criticism but the main objective has not been achieved- he is still there. last season under Bowyer looked like a turning point, but the selling and negative comments by RD in the last week has undone a lot of the good. Davo sort of nods that us old/ middle age protesters are not prepared to do what needs doing ie stepping up the protests. for RD to say getting promoted has made it difficult to sell is rubbish.
Ah, this is sad news indeed, dear friend , although on reflection, there's inevitably a time to say " enough's enough".
We first met in a taxi after I received a text asking me to call you ...when a proposition was made that I was honoured to receive & was a pleasure to accept.
Our subsequent trip to Belgium was a memorable one, and I'm sure the highlight for you was sitting in that extremely uncomfortable seat in the Roland Out cab as I was queasy facing backwards IYKWIM....
And in that position, I'll always remember the call from a certain Mr J White that you fielded brilliantly with virtually no warning or time for preparation. A true professional.
We then crossed paths over the course of subsequent protests including a further visit to St Truiden - all very worthwhile & DEFINITELY proving successful in the overall picture & aim to rile the Rat.
However, your work is done & you should be very proud of what you have helped to achieve. You & your fellow CARD organisers are held in high esteem by many, many grateful Addicks who cannot begin to guess how many hours you have all spent for The Cause.
I sincerely hope that we shall bump into one another some time in the not too distant future & hopefully are able to raise a glass in celebration of the Belgian's departure.
Bowyer is our great hope, and he wouldn't be here without the protests. That is just one example of the results of you're efforts which are much appreciated.
Thanks @Davo55 and well done on your immense contribution to CARD. The war may not yet be won but without your input it may already have been lost. In true Dunkirk spirit you helped to rally the troops against a tyrant from the other side of The Channel and he now knows that he is not up against a "Dad's Army" but a well drilled "fighting" machine. In time he will be beaten (whether it takes the intervention of the Yanks remains to be seen) and your part in his defeat will not be forgotten.
Hi Alan. I am sad to learn that you have called it a day in terms of your role within CARD, but I understand why you have taken that decision.
The types and range of protests arranged by CARD were always imaginative, colourful and eye-catching and certainly kept our cause within the sporting media spotlight.
I know from our brief conversations that you put a lot of effort and emotion to the cause and I thank you for that.
When RD sells and I return from my current home boycott, I hope we can shall a beer or two.
Enjoy your "retirement", @Davo55 ; you have certainly earned it!
And don't underplay the part you have played in getting us from where we were in 2014 to where we are today; no more KM nonsense, no more underskilled network players, no more constnt churn of inappropriate chief coaches. Every protest adds a straw to his load - I recon you've added a bale all by yourself! - and one day someone will add the final one.
Just one warning - it is all too easy to get dragged back in to a cause in which you believe...
@Davo55 I am genuinely sorry that your stepping back. However I do hope you can enjoy more quality time with your grandchildren and the rest of your family.
I don't always agree with what you say and the actions you have taken but I can honestly say, hand on heart, I know you do so in the unairing belief your doing the right thing. That sir is an admiral position to take. I wish I had your commitment, your stead fast belief and your unwavering will to do what you think is right.
I hope, after a break, you'll be back. I sometimes question your arguments and reasoning but I have never, and will never, question your motives.
Hopefully, at some point, we can sit down over a pint and toast the departure of our current owner, safe in the knowledge that the next one is a good one.
Thanks for all your efforts on behalf of us fans @Davo55
I’m very keen to see what the next protest will be, hope it’s not long before it’s put into action.
I do believe it must be difficult knowing truly what will get rid of this parasite and while I know most wouldn’t advocate breaking the law, I do wonder if this is the only thing that will?
A big heartfelt thanks from oop north for everything you have done to keep the campaign alive, relevant and respected. The importance of your work must surely be compared to that of the former campaigners during wilderness years away from the Valley. I don't need to know you, to respect you. Your efforts are so much appreciated for tirelessly working to save the club we all love, from this tyrant. Cheers.

Happy memories, Jean. I dare to dream that the taxi episode allows me to be credited with creating one of your famous Fanny tingles
Everything what has been said is a great statement to a great guy, thanks so much for giving us the ammo & a direction in the bringing down of the septic poisonous old scrote that is RD,not there just yet,but without CARD,yourself & the rest of the band...we prob wouldn't have a club now,so a big thanks from me too, enjoy your retirement & watch the good work you started carry on till this chapter is over...& we all get our club back

Thanks for all the hard work that you have put in over the last few years to try and save the club that we both love.
Anyway, did you really trouser the 50k?
Just joking, of course .

But let's leave it there. It's starting to feel a bit like an RIP thread........
I liked Patrick Stewart in it, and that Blonde one was fit.
Seriously, cheers @Davo55
