47 was always a good number for Charlton!
Can't we have some f*sh puns instead?

I was taking a leap year into account.

There is a cure for it, get rid of Robinson or find another job miles away.
Calm down soft lad, (not you iaitch)
Robinson signed new 3 year contract so ear plugs are now mandatory at team meetings.
  • At 50 Tyrone doffs his Jamaican cap to the Sparrows lane clubhouse.

The one he shouldn't have had in the 1st place
  • I saw Tyrone play a lot when he was part of the Atlanta (I was living there) United squad in their first season of MLS. He was dependable but nothing amazing.

Liked to get forward but crossing was often off the mark, as the season progressed he started less and less and was released at the end of the season.

i can’t see this one going beyond the week trial but as ever, in Bowyer we trust.
  • At 51 he’s now entering his prime. Sign him up Bow!
  • Would of preferred Thompson or Spence, but Mears was a decent rb in years gone by, remains to be seen if he still is one. Remember he got a really random move to Marseille about 10 years ago

  • Was the only good player in quite simply the worst ever team in the prem, and I mean the worst as I saw Derby that season.  They made our relegation season squad look like talented world beaters.  Always wondered why he never made it at West Ham, especially when Spector played loads more games.  Definitely had the abiliy, doesn't sound like he's had it recently.
  • I'm fitter now than I was 5 years ago so I see age a problem
  • 45, can he beat Stanley’s record?
Did Stanley Unwin play professional football?
  • Well being linked with Charlton hasn’t been good for him... he’s aged 2 years in 4 hours
He should try supporting the club then... I feel as though I've just celebrated my One Hundred and Eleventy First Birthday!!

There's no plaice for that on a serious thread like this. Now back to his age, how old is he? No more Red Herrings please.

Not sure what’s happened with Thompson, left Portsmouth for a move to the Championship, had a trial with Bristol City, but didn’t get a contract, now still without a club and training with Portsmouth, although Jackett has said he won’t be signing, he’s just keeping fit.

  • Fitness, attitude and desire will be what Bowyers looking at. At 36 you can easily still hack it or it can all have long gone. A week in the mixer will allow LB and JJ to assess which it is.
  • Has his trial finished - any news?

Bowyer said in his interview that he would be talking to Mears over the weekend.
  • Bet Tyrone can't wait for the conversation with bowyer. I'm sure he will be all mears
  • Might end in tears for Mears one fears.
  • Give him a 6mth contract for now...then see how it goes...
  • He accepted two six month deals from WBA.

Hopefully he would sign until January and review from there
  • I'd be surprised if he's match fit enough to play on Wednesday though

I think you’ve had too many beers.

Tyrone Mears maybe long in years, but
as long as he can go through the gears,
he can play right back, as alternatives
    we lack.
