'Stags legend in the making, along with Nigel Clough. Played in his favoured position he seems to have no weaknesses, and has the knack of making every pass count. Not to mention the goals and the defensive work. One of the best signings for years.'
Incredible that some welcome Lapslie's move. He should, liked Morgan be a player we keep for a few seasons. Lapslie's loan to Mansfield was to help him get games and progress. He does this - and then LB lets him go. WHY??? Have no confidence in LB's desire to play "experienced" players who are basically journeymen well past their best. He is really annoying me - especially with his bizarre substitutions that cost us our Championship place, and it goes on through his season. We need an "experienced" manager as LB makes far too many mistakes with selections and tactics.

Russell Slade or Karl Robinson, perhaps?
Incredible that some think all this squad needs is a better manager.
George Lapslie may not have been ready for Championship football last term, especially in a period of such turmoil at Charlton but he is so much more of what Charlton needs now. Emergency right back/wingback better than Smyth? FFS Bringing him in to the first team squad would require the exit of one of this season's disappointments - Gilbey and Madisson being the obvious duffers. Moving them out can't be taken for granted and Macclesfield's offer is a 'bird in the hand'. What doesn't ring true is all the noise around new signings. What's needed most of all by a country mile is able centre-halves. The suggestions are that midfielders or even strikers are likely arrivals.
Good luck George Lapslie, we'll follow your rise with interest - just please don't serve up LB's humble pie with a match winning goal scoring performance first time you're Back At The Valley. Any other time you'll be welcomed back as One Of Our Own.
'He crawls off the pitch'. Footballers have a lot of skill sets, and maybe George does not have the type of stuff to satisfy his critics, but can anybody ever say he is diffident, moody, disinterested, selfish, and lazy? We have seen a lot of lads leave, it's great that he leaves with so much respect. If he ever returns, and indeed scores a winning goal for the opposition, pissed off though I may be, I wouldn't begrudge it.
George all the best for the future for you, Ruth, and Summer. you are a great lad and will be missed by those who no you. Will watch your career with much interest.

What I really like about George was his plain old enthusiasm ....... he gave me the impression that he played for Charlton because he was so proud to do so. Always a fan.
Enjoyed watching him play for us and would have liked to see him retained , as despite sometimes being impetuous, he got stuck in and played for the shirt All the best in the future George, EXCEPT against us ((:>)
This isnt another opportunity to defend Bowyer more an chance to question his methods
Gets slated for rotating so much yet Inniss is the only player we now have injured
Lapslie on the other hand has played every minute of every game since moving to Mansfield (apart from when he was sent off and that subsequent suspension) - He's now injured and will be missing for at least four weeks minimum
As a result is it better to rotate continuously (yet within sensible constraints) and so avoid the risk
Or do you keep playing Russian Roulette and wait and see when your luck will run out

Somewhere in between.
You rotate as necessary not for the sake of it and not just because it's forced by injury.
Still out injured but Mansfield currently winning 2-1 against Bolton puts them into 11th and just six points away from the Play-Offs, might be seeing Lapslie back in League One quicker than we thought. Been a good turn around under Clough as at one point it didnt look like they'd escape the relegation battle

You were one of the very few midfielder's prepared to run at the oppo's.

Pitch tonight is atrocious.
Not due to Maddison, he went off after 60 minutes
