2019/20 CL Prediction League Week 7 results

Sometimes you need to think about changing the rules of competitions. When Crystal Palace are 1-0 and 5 minutes into injury playing against ten men, there is no way they should end up drawing, but they did. You might not want to hear about me, but this robbed me of three Prediction League points and so I think it is time to introduce a new rule to the Prediction League that takes away goals scored so far into stoppage time. To make it worse, I remember thinking that Chelsea v Liverpool was a 2-1 away banker, but then Liverpool can sometimes score more, so I changed my mind and steered away from that game. I'm, therefore, thinking of another new rule that allows you to count predictions that you vaguely considered. The only problem with that would be that everyone would score 14 points every week, I suspect.

But, hey, someone did score 14 points this week without fiddling with the rules. So, step forward and be prepared to receive an OBE, @MrOneLung, who predicted all three games exactly right. And, what's more, he achieved this in a week when nearly two-thirds of us scored one or less. I sincerely hope he went to the bookmakers on Saturday and stuck everything he had on those three results.

In the league tables, it's all change at the top again as @Boysie achieved an impressive six points to leap to the top of the table. For those languishing in the National South or worse, take heart from @MrOneLung's fantastic performance - the impossible can happen! Hmm. Assuming he has bet on every Prediction League set he'd ever predicted, and this goes back eleven seasons (plus seven games) to 2008/09, at an average of 35 fixtures a season, we're looking at 392 games.

So if he'd had another 14-pointer in this time, he's miles ahead of the market. I also seem to recall him winning the Beat the Bookie with an outrageous final-day bet one year? If so, then he's the CL betting guru!!
