RIP Barrie, Do anything you wanna do was a classic, seemed to be on the radio all the time in the summer of 1977.
I saw Larry Wallis also departed a couple of weeks ago, once of the Pink Fairies, Motorhead, and lots of others, he gave us the classic Stiff single "Police Car"
I saw them at the Marquee - it was the hottest gig ever. Happy days. Great band.
RIP
As did I and it was a stunning gig
I saw them there in about 1980, and it was a sold out comeback gig after they had split/had a break. Also saw them at the Tunnel Club a few years later, then a couple of times in the last 10/15 years. They always put on a great show, with Barrie invariably giving it 100%. I'm off to the Great British Alternative Music Festival tomorrow, where I'm sure many of the bands will pay tribute to Barrie. I will be blasting out the Life on the Line album before I go. RIP Barrie.
