Rather aggressive steward "oi I'll see your ticket now" as I walked through the turnstiles. Showed him my ticket and he asked if I had a student card. I said yes and showed him it. He didnt even look at it and let me through.
After the initial aggressive approach it was odd he didnt actually check. I would have waved any old card at him.
Reminded me of the time before we had photo passes at work, just a patterned card with the word 'pass' on it. Suspecting that security never looked, me and my mates had a competition to see who could get in by showing something other than the pass. We all had a go at it and no one was stopped. I got in using a phone card (more than once, just to amuse myself) but the best was my mate who flashed a Garibaldi biscuit.
So on the OS it also says season ticket holders (concessions) need to take proof as well. Surely this is done when ST is bought. So now I have to take my sons passport with us, great
It should be only if he looks like he may be too old for the ticket he has. So perhaps yes if he has an U11, but looks 12.
He is coming up for 17 and is 6 foot and has u18 ticket. The point is when you first get a kids ST you have to prove their age, so having a ST shouldn't need ID every game.
It's a right pain, but as always it's the few cheating the system, that cause the problems for the many.
Can you please keep your electioneering for the Labour Party to the House of Commoners thread?
Got my U21 season ticket checked and when he saw it was an U21 he asked for ID to show I was U21. This has happened most home games this season. I'm 18 so obviously don't look over 21 and it's literally impossible to get a U21 season ticket without proof of ID when you buy it. Doesn't overly bother me but its so bizarre why they keep checking when you literally can't cheat the system with season tickets.

I think you're forgetting that some U18 S/T holders that can't attend may give their ticket to an adult, so the adult attends for nothing, rather than purchasing an adult ticket.

Don't know if the stewards caught anyone out but what I did notice was the huge number of empty seats in the family stand that was fully booked when I tried to get tickets there for my lad and I.
Not to mention, the huge number of young lads whom kept getting my lad and I to stand and let them past as we had booked seats on the row which was the easiest to walk along to get from the family stand to the Upper North !

He was checked as we went in, we took passport but the steward said just take a photo on the phone rather than actually bringing the passport or use his oyster zip card.

You buy a season ticket with your ID and give it to someone over 18... really is as simple as that.
