  • If I'm not mistaken our record against the spanners and 'them' is 1 win in 6.  Depressing stuff.

Yeah, not beating them in 10 games and if the law if averages is to be maintained, we will do the double this season.
  • When you consider we've been the stronger team for such a long time, that record is awful.

Has it really been 10 games since the 4 2 at highbury?  That's a surprise.

I like the work that you've put in Callum and I admire your optimism but, yes, it really is that bad. Won 12, Drawn 27, Lost 35. That is shocking.

Exactly. We could do the double over them for the next 11 years and their H2H record would still be better.

    masterly piece of research
  • It’s a disgrace from a club who have not got the history of us and average finishing position would be well below us
they have a record that is prolly better than any other team we’ve played over 20 fixtures against

    shameful beyond shameful

Its not just the results. It's the nature of the performances in those games. We've been so insipid in most of them. A complete lack of bottle on so many occasions irrespective of the manager. Hopefully Bow can drill it into them today what it means and the likes of Pearce lead by example

Would help if occasionally a Charlton team actually gave it a go instead of capitulating. In all my years of support that’s only happened a handful of times. Yes it’s dreadful.

No disgrace having bad records against Man Utd and Arsenal. But Millwall ffs.

Charlton's record against current league teams. The table is sorted on points per game (working assumption of 3 points available, even for cup and historic matches where this wouldn't have applied), this methodology is to even out the disparity in matches played. Teams with less than 10 contests appear in a separate table. All stats taken from 11v11.com.

Go on, scroll down the table until you see Millwall, then tell me it's not so bad.

  • What a lame return against scum and palace ffs

it’s the price we’ve had to pay for that beautiful bit of silverware called the FA Cup
    2nd in the top flight
numerous seasons in the top flight
    none in the 4th tier

    but come on
  • Blimey. Our record against Palace is dreadful as well.

Weird how our record against the likes of Leicester City can be so much better

I like the fact that we're in credit against Man City.
  • Wow.

    That is horrific.

So horrific, in fact, that shouldn't be visible on the site until after the 9pm watershed and even then only by over-18s.

It’s actually 11 games since that 4-2 win - although we did beat them twice in a row in 2001!!

I went to the double as well in that season when be beat them at the Den in the snow and at the Valley. They were top and got relegated that season. We ended up in the play offs. I am pretty convinced Bowyer got sent off in that game. Didn't a Millwall player got sent of later in that game? On a separate note I remember when Alex Rae and one of our Charlton players got sent off for fighting each other at the Valley many years later and yet they were good mates off the pitch. This was around xmas time if I recall?

And it's only six victories since the War. Remember, this is a derby and elsewhere in the country these are so hard-fought that draws are the norm and respective records close.

I can’t think of any derby in English football that is so one sided between relatively even matched clubs.
