Frank Lampard

LINK: Continental giants snub Lampard
Frank Lampard 'knows he has no chance of moving' to any of the big European clubs and so will almost definitely stay at Chelsea, according to an executive at Barcelona. 'There is no other option. He has been offered to us, Milan, Inter and Real Madrid. Basically all of the big clubs. But none are interested. We are the same as those clubs are, we're looking for a player who is more creative and has a greater technique than Lampard. So it looks like he will go nowhere.'

The England midfielder has been trying to negotiate a new contract for the past year, with the stumbling block believed to be his contract demands. He wants parity with Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack, the top earners at Chelsea, who are thought to earn £130,000 a week. The 29-year-old has been offered £110,000, around £20,000 more than his current deal, which has two years remaining.

John Terry's attempts to agree a new, improved contract have also stalled although, according to a Stamford Bridge executive, 'he is not offering himself to the market like Frank. So we think this means he will stay'.

Might not have the technique or swagger that some of these big boys want, but Lampard scores 20 goals from midfield season after season.

A very valuable commodity if you want to win leagues.

Classic reward theory. Reward has to be precieved as both fair and equitable.

If you are earning £100 pw or £100,000 PW and you feel that that amount is fair for what you do and what you contribute for what you do then you will be happy.

But as soon as you learn that someone else is on £120 pw or £120,000 pw you are no longer happy despite being on the same wage as you no longer see it as equitable. ie "I do the same if not more than them but they get paid more".

the bloke at club level is absolute quality. international level is a mystery. He started off well enough under Sven.

But Frank loves Chelsea. Why else would he kiss the badge so much. He can't be in it for the money, can he?

You only pay 5% tax in Spain so he could sign a deal for £80k a week and still be happy.
