Nintendo Switch

The controllers on my daughter’s (new) Nintendo switch keep losing their connection to the base unit when used remotely. Will take it back if it carries on but wondered if anyone else has suffered the same problem and has a fix?

  • I haven’t mate. But I haven’t got a Nintendo Switch so I guess that’s why.
    Thanks Curly, helpful as ever

    Are they sufficiently charged?
  • Is the Switch out in the open? We had problems when it was behind the TV. Basically minimise distance and interference. So turn off anything else with a Bluetooth or WiFi capability in the vicinity and keep clear line of sight to the unit.

They are notoriously bad those things.

It’s very near the WiFi router and TV so will try moving it, cheers.

    Yes mate
  • Don’t worry problem solved.... mehmet has been watching porn hub on it.

    Admin please close the thread.
  • If it continues you can send them back. There was a big issue with them when they first came out and they had to offer replacements. Took ages but that was a busier time for them. My new ones still play up but I rarely use them - the Pro controller is expensive but much better/ reliable.

Cheers, they seem to be working ok now but will keep an eye on them.

Get a PS4. Proper gaming console. Switch is an updated Game Boy. My son has one.
  • I was given a Switch as a gift a couple of weeks ago. It's great. I also have a PS4 but the ability to unhook your Switch from the tv and carry on playing around the house or on the train without having to shut down and start over is brilliant. Can't do that on a PS4. Different consoles, different strengths

Also can't play Zelda, Mario, Super Smash Brothers, Metroid Prime or the upcoming Animal Crossing game on a PS4/XBOX. :-)

For what it's worth, I don't have an answer to the original question although I do know they had issues with the joy-cons when the console was first released as @JiMMy 85 said above.

Just clocked Golden Eye on Gamecube
When you say clocked, do you mean you broke the record of 26 seconds for the first scene?
  • GoldenEye on Gamecube.

The greatest console game ever made.  B)

Never been a fan of Pokemon games that aren't on a Game Boy...
  • GoldenEye on Gamecube.

No it wasn't, it was bloody dreadful.

Goldeneye on N64, now that's a completely different story  ;)

Perhaps I meant N64 but as I'm old I get easily confused.  :'(

    Anyway GoldenEye on the N64.

  • Just watched a clip on YouTube, on the top of the dam. Took me about 4 month to get through the gate lol

The record for that bit was I think 27 secs, it had been that for years. It was said that it wouldn’t be better. Loads of people had equalled it. Then someone did in 26 secs.

In that time I’m just deciding which gun to use and the best way to go.
  • My left JoyCon has the "drifting" issue and while it's not game breaking, it is very annoying

I think I'll treat myself to a pro controller for Christmas
