Just left and on the train home.  Back Mon 20th Jan.  Onlly used 12 days leave.  One of the only advantages of working for a University.
I too work in a well known west end university but I have only just got home. Some of us have social obligations with colleagues that have to be met. So far I’ve met these obligations four times in the past week.
Best place I have ever worked.
  • Finish office job on monday. Will book the morning off on Tuesday. Out in the cab tomorrow and possibly sunday.
  • Tuesday 24. Probably call it a day early afternoon
  • Working on Xmas Eve. Back on Friday 27th then working the 30th and 31st. Back on the 6th.
Frontline local authority. Lucky not to be working Xmas Day or New Year.

    Win win..

@JohnBoyUK are you obliged to use your leave when the Uni is closed for holidays?

Or anyone who works for a business that shuts down , I would be pissed off at having to use X amount of days leave at Christmas through no choice of my own or is a week off at Christmas just bonus days?

We’re forced to use leave between Xmas and new year. The principle is annoying but I’d always take it anyway so I don’t mind too much.
  • Waiting for @SantaClaus to moan about having to pull an all-nighter.
  • 31st July 2019.
