‘we have a budget about a third less than luton’

I know it was only a few, but It still makes me shake my head there were some fans calling for him to be sacked before the season was stopped. Ridiculous.

Fortunately Bowyer continually recognises how good the wider support has been.
I was one of them making you shake your head before changing my opinion during the meltdown & realising the constraints and stress  he was working with & I’d have thought many more did too, it was showing something wasn’t right & while everyone was basking in the glory of our new amazing owners (especially me !)it was automatically the manager people question .
Not all admit they were wrong but I do & often change my stance on things as new evidence & facts comes to light .

@Covered End always thinks I'm joking when I talk about Bowyer

    Shame on @Covered End
I haven't the slightest clue what you two are going on about.

I thought it was common knowledge that Taylor was off in the summer? I heard he was going to Norwich

I think when we heard we had new rich investors, there was thought to be a possibility that he might be given a contract that could keep.

That of course was like fools gold!

Excellent interview. Bowyer talks a huge amount of sense and we are lucky to have him.

His observations about the Coronavirus situation are spot on.

Yep I think bows view on CV absolutely spot on, I think we need to just null and void the season. Start a fresh when the virus has been sorted , no other way now.

Yes you drove me friggin mad that night.
I did think you were joking for a long time, but you were actually serious.
I thought you was suggesting I wanted Bowyer sacked, when I've always been a Bowyer fan.

If there was any serious money available, securing your decent goal scoring striker on a new deal would not be such an issue. Yes, it may break a wage structure, but our squad is not blessed with the talent that Lyle possesses, so on balance you would hope would accept it. This is the first proper signal to me that there really is no money to play with, current situation aside.

I would have thought you have known misery guts long enough to realise that he does not joke.

Shouldn't Luton be beating us, as Bow mentioned that after someone at Luton told him their budget, he k we that ours was only two thirds of theirs. I also heard somewhere else that Luton have a salary cap where top earners are 'only' on 6k per week.

In the Championship, I've read that many clubs do pay much more than that to their top earners ..... makes you wonder what their current playing budgets could be?

Mind you, talking of Luton, if £6k pw  salary cap is for their top earners, there must be many others in the squad earning less than that?

Even at Charlton, there'll be some top earners around the £6k pw, surely ...... Naby Sarr and his famous 5-year Katrien contract, Lyle Taylor and Jonny Williams?
