I don't think threads should be deleted or sunk for subject content ever unless something libellous is posted which could potentially expose the site owners or abusive language is used which could offend schoolchildren, women and old fogies. I come into the latter category before anyone accuses me of being judgemental, discriminatory insulting or anything else PC or otherwise!
If posters start insulting each other in a netaddicks fashion then again it is boring for the majority to read so should be sunk.
This claims to be a Charlton Community site. Football is obviously the main conversation topic of this community but in my opinion the site would be considerably devalued if we are unable to (rationally) discuss anything else, including emotive issues like suicide bombers and Rothko's habit of jumping red lights on his bike:-)

On the front page right now we have threads about Davina McCall, Bon Jovi and iPhones - they are a pain if you are here to enjoy Charlton, a bit of sport and some banter.
How about setting up another site for all the other stuff - could call it Random Life ?0 -

Not bothered really but surely most would agree that some of what gets posted is utter tripe. Mind you, some is comedy gold, but mostly at someone's expense.
