Phillips: 8 kicking a little wayward but one great save and wouldn’t swap him for any other keeper in championship now Matthews: 8 mr dependable really hope we get him tied down on a 1/2 year deal Lockyer: 8 solid Pearce: 7.5 mainly solid Oshilaja: 7.5 growing on me at lb McGeady: 7 good spirts and a real player in there but still prefer Williams of the two to start Cullen: 9 MOM Pratley: 8 experience really vital right now Morgan: 8.5 I think he can and will become my fave charlton player some times there are Rare occasions He looks out of his depth like a boy playing against men but for me we don’t have a better passer of the ball at the club than albie and these remaining 7 games could be making of him and could really become a charlton fave for years to come I feel Bonne: 7 much better today Hemed: 7.5 so many lovely touches and link up but needs a goal Doughty: 8 excellent impact from the bench love how direct he is Aneke: 8 same as doughty offers something different think he may start Tuesday Referee: 8 ok bowyer 9 spot on with subs today and let’s go again Tuesday
our first home game, and in an atmosphere of good-will please make remarks with your marks but please do not criticise other Lifers marks, over to you:
Phillips: 7.5 One crucial save and generally commanding otherwise. Some 'Deano' kicking but, from the commentary, the wind was awkward.
Matthews: 7.5 Dealt well with some pacy attackers and was able to make some forays of his own.
Lockyer: 7 Solid and commanding in the box
Pearce: 7 As Lockyer. I was concerned he'd get exposed for pace but the old head won today.
Oshilaja: 7 Did well against that attack considering he is not a 'proper' left back
McGeady: 6.5 Did some good things but faded. Subbed at the right time.
Cullen: 8.5 Vintage Cullen today. I wish we could keep him permanently. MOM
Pratley: 8 What can I say? The old man stepped up when needed once more.
Morgan: 7 Another good performance from Albie and did some of the 'dirty stuff' as well as the creative passing
Bonne: 6.5 Worked hard. Shame about the offside goal. There is definitely a player there even if he has been quiet these past two matches and that 'goal' would have given him that confidence he needs.
Hemed: 6.5 A few good things early on but faded. Subbed at the right time.
Doughty: 7.5 Subs are meant to have impact and Alfie did
Aneke: 7 I hope he can get properly fit because, unusually for a Charlton player, he is physically impressive
Referee: 8 Didn't notice him much which was good. Not as 'card happy' as some which was good too. Arguably the best ref we've had this season.
Phillips: 7 He looks so assured these days and punching was v good. One excellent save.
Matthews: 7 He too is looking v good. Wandered on 46 mins leaving Hugil with their best chance. Lockyer: 7 Another v good performance. Pearce: 7 Ditto. Oshilaja: 7 Good, better than v Hull. McGeady: 5 A luxury we can't afford, adds little & like playing with 10 men. Give Doughty a go. Cullen: 7.5 MOM. Pratley: 7.5 Extra 0.5 for the goal. Morgan:7 Played well. Bonne: 6.5 Did ok Hemed: 6.5 Did ok Doughty: 7.5 Did really well, added more in 5 mins than McGeady did the whole time he was on the pitch. Aneke: 7 Did well Referee: 8 Very good, not fussy, was consistent and let the game flow.
Phillips: 8 2 clean sheets in 2 now. One really good save Matthews: 8.5 Lockyer: 8.5 Pearce: 7.5 Oshilaja: 7 Worries me at LB but has done well so far McGeady: 7 like a new signing Cullen: 8.5 if only we could sign him on a permanent. The boy is class Pratley: 8 works so hard for the team. He only scores important goals Morgan: 8 glad we’ve got this lad on a 3 year deal. His ability has always been there but he’s come back fitter and smarter Bonne: 6.5 again, not his best game but worked hard. Maybe harsh but -.5 for being offside when he put the ball in. He was in so much space. It was a bit lazy Hemed: 7 like McGeady, has come back a different player. Holds the ball up very well and some nice passes to play others through Doughty: 8.5 what a player to bring off the bench. His pace done us the world of good. Has definitely improved on his crossing Aneke: 8 played well when he came on. Finally got that different option. Referee: 7 was perhaps a bit too lenient but worked in our favour at times. Let the game flow quite nicely
Phillips: 8 very strong punch, cane out well, brilliant stop to prevent what should have been an equaliser Matthews: 9 has he always been this quick? Seemed to have pace to burn. My MOTM Lockyer: 7 solid above average defending Pearce: 7 solid above average defending Oshilaja: 6 looked good right up until the mistake that nearly led to them scoring which resulted in him being subbed off -1 for indecision McGeady: 6 looked ok but shouldn’t have tried to go past his man twice losing the ball, could do with a goal Cullen: 8 typical impressive performance Pratley: 8 gets an extra point for scoring Morgan: 8 great range of passing and fitness increasing, looking forward to seeing more of this lad (until we sell him) Bonne: 6 still not quite at the races Hemed: 6 still not quite at the races Doughty: 7 looked a bit slower on acclaims than I remembered but still threatening. Nice work to get that shot away Aneke: 7 a lot sharper and leaner looking than before lay-off, frustrating he didn’t pull the trigger more often or fast enough, needs a goal or two. Great time wasting effort at the death Referee 5 missed a fair few but wasn’t helped by at least one comically wrong every time Lino.
Phillips: 7.5 Made a couple of good saves and hes finally coming off his line more!! Matthews: 9 MOM Just outstanding, performance had everything and he left Eze for dead at one point! Lockyer: 7 Solid Pearce: 7 Also solid Oshilaja: 7 dwells a bit on the ball but defended well and cant fault his desire. McGeady: 6.5 Just tries do a little too much, beats the same man twice! Cullen: 8.5 Everywhere. Really got stuck in. Pratley: 7.5 extra 0.5 for the goal. Cant fault his commitment to Charlton and the win..will do anything for 3 points even if thats trying to kill players! Morgan: 7 getting better isnt he? His range of passing is brillaint. Bonne: 7 Much better than last week. Hemed: 7 Good technically. Cant wait for him to get a goal! Doughty: 6.5 Exciting prospect Aneke: 8 I thought he had a great cameo. When he comes on, teams have to change to cope with his athleticism and pace. When he was in the corner, fell down still on the ball and managed to keep it and shield again...brilliant. Referee:
Phillips: 7.5 - relatively quiet but a critical save at the start of the second half. Our most consistent performer across the season as a whole Matthews: 8.5:MoM - absolutely oozes class. Such a good footballer Lockyer: 7.5 - really solid. Some of his long passing was a little wayward but he performed his core function admirably Pearce: 7.5 - another sound performance. I hope his wife gives birth before Tuesday, as Cardiff will be a physically tough encounter Oshilaja: 7 - did pretty well, although I am a little nervous with him at left back McGeady: 6.5 - flashes of quality but an uneven performance Cullen: 8 - played really well and he and Pratters offered excellent protection to the back 4 Pratley: 7 - his usual industrious self, supplemented with the winning goal Morgan: 8 - a wonderful passer of the ball, allied to a lot of hard work to try and win it back when we were out of possession. With his vision, I always feel that something is going to happen when Albie gets on the ball and his instant pass to Bonne was sublime. His creativity is now a key component Bonne: 6 - worked hard as ever but not yet in the groove Hemed: 6 - some nice lay offs but a little static, albeit that channel running is not (and has never been) his game. A goal would do him (and Macauley) the world of good Doughty: 7 - searing pace and a player who can self-create, as he demonstrated with his second half effort Aneke: 7 - caused QPR problems when he came on, although I don't feel he's fit enough to start and see out a game. A good impact sub, though Referee: 7 - I didn't notice him, which is always a good sign
