The EFL have today handed the club a 12-point deduction. If the club finish outside the relegation places this season, that penalty will be applied this season. If they finish in the relegation places, the penalty will be applied next season in League One.
Wigan are currently in 14th place, eight points ahead of Huddersfield in 22nd place. The sanction means that the club must have a gap of more than 12 points to the drop zone if they want to avoid relegation.
EFL ain't worth a wank. With the amount of shoddy owners they allow to buy clubs it's corrupt. Fast forward 5 years and I believe league two will not exist. League one will be made up of premier league reserves.
