I really thought this was a joke when I saw the thread yesterday.
But it appears it’s not.
I wish it had been given to Seb.
Thats no reflection on you Rick, just my personal opinion.
Seb had already won it.
Does that mean he couldn’t again? I’m sorry but given the circumstances I stick by my opinion.
Les Turner has at least as good a claim as Seb on that basis. It’s invidious to have this discussion.
Whose resentment or anger am arousing by merely stating my opinion? Especially as I specifically stated it wasn’t a reflection on you & your win.
As it was my opinion, I still stick by it even though you make a good point about Les.
Enjoy your award.
I just think it’s an undesirable discussion. I respect your opinion but I don’t think we should have a debate about which deceased supporter is more worthy than the next.
If I was the owner, I'd do away with the CEO post and create a General manager post which I'd give to Rick. I'd want his influence on everything and would know it would be positive.
Great that the award has gone to Rick Brown who in rain or shine sells the big issue on the street corner. I'm especially happy to see the award go up North to Kent after checking on my Dale Stephens Satnav.
Airman Everitt has been a campaigning Journalist since he was in reception class and wrote a stunning article on the "injustices of the capitalist system". This was just the beginning of his long and distinguished career with the quill. As co-editor of the school magazine at his Grammar School in Sidcup, he left no stone unturned in seeking out the truth. The School Governors always feared a new issue which may expose their indulgences.
Rick is a left leaning man after buying a second hand pair of shoes from Roland Duchatelet.
Mr Brown-Everitt is a worthy winner despite needing the block vote of the Charlton momentum Socialist and ex Marxists group.
A long overdue acknowledge of Rick Everitt's fine and dilligence work over many decades with back to the Valley and the VOTV.

I'll never forget all your hard work, along with a few others, that culminated in getting us back to The Valley in 1992. I feel personally indebted to you. Since then you never gave up keeping a watchful eye on the affairs of our club, raising the alarm on the many occasions when peril was on the horizon. You richly deserve this accolade - congratulations Rick!

in any event, my understanding is that this decision was reached in March, before Seb passed away.

Long may it continue.
Please, keep fighting the good fight!
Many congratulations Rick - please keep up the great work.
