About time Sam Johnstone was spoken about for England.

They may have conceded a lot of goals but he also has the most saves in The Premier League and if u put a stronger defence in front if him I dont think he concedes as many as he has done
Always a relatively misleading stat though, as the keepers who play for the worst teams will invariably be the keepers who makes the most saves.

He's having a decent few games, but needs to do it for longer to get ahead of the current 3, Pickford, Pope and Henderson. He was getting stick a few weeks back and West brom fans wanted him dropped.
Ok I am gonna copyright a new stat for everyone to froth at the mouth over.
It is the Xs stat of expected saves to work hand in hand with the Xg expected goals stat.
every shot is analysed and given a rating of how often the goalie should save it.
That way doesn’t matter if a goalie of a rubbish team faces more shots, they might all be easy chances - simple
  • Spurs win today and it’s time to start looking at moving abroad , they beat Chelsea and the league is theirs , the unthinkable, unbearable will become a reality 🤢 ABS

Klopp and Des Kelly's heated debate on BT was good value because they were both correct ?

The reason that Premier Footballers are multi millionaires are because of Sky, BT etc paying top dollar and the quid pro quo is they tell the club's when they play. In return the club's earn a fortune which is passed on to the players at a higher % than any other industry I can think of.

The 3pm Xmas day premier match can't be too far away as" he who pays the Piper calls the tune"

Because of COVID-19 the seasons joined up and with the money spinning Champions League the cash cow along with the premier league the players are just rich commodities.

Klopp who turned Liverpool into League winners after 3 decades is seeing his players getting injuries because of the schedules other than Van Dijk who was a victim of a flying scissors kick. But at least the VAR got the off side correct rather than Pickford's marshal art jump.

Klopp agreed the Ref and VAR got the decisions correct as the law stands despite getting another in line decision being called offside; Salah toe nail which he should've cut.

Des Kelly got his headlines so he should get a pay rise

Ps I'm aware that there were Xmas day games but i think that was when players earned £25 quid a week and the owners earned the money their selves by the gate money as long as the turnstile operators didn't have their clown trousers on with the deep pockets !
  • Ralph Hasenhuttl is doing a rather splendid job at Southampton who, if this score stays as it is, will only be a point off top spot. OGS, on the other hand, is on borrowed time with United in 14th place.

Or quite possibly not the case!

  • Remarkable how many goals they score after 90th minute
  • Chelsea v Spurs quite cagey. Ziyech is having a shocker.

But to be fair to him he was right.

If Liverpool played Wednesday night, why put them as the early saturday kick off? Even the late game would've been a bit better, or they could've just played today and Southampton v United (who played Tuesday) could've been played yesterday instead. I know you can't please every manager and they'll always be someone with something to moan about but i agree with him here.

They should also bring in the 5 subs rule as every other top league has 5 subs. Sheffield United are supposedly one of the main advocates for keeping it at 3 subs, why? It's not as if sticking with 3 subs has served them well so far, they're on track for a record low points total!!

Because Sheff Utd don't have the squad depth the top sides do. They'd arguably be doing worse in the case of 5 subs, so it's not in their interests.

Make Klopp right on this though. The example he gave with Robertson was fair. Taking him for the Greek lad wouldn't have strengthened them (maybe slightly because of fresh legs) but would have protected the player. With Internationals you are talking about players possibly playing 50 games this season in less time than usual, it's really not fair on them. It's ok for a club like Sheffield Utd because they have less games and less International players but unfair on the bigger clubs. Definitely think it should be 5 subs as it is throughout Europe.

    Cavani's movement is fantastic.
  • Will happily take a clean sheet at the Bridge.

But that's not how rules are decided, the clubs vote in their own interests. Wilder is right to look after Sheffield United as are the other smaller club managers who put their own teams first.

LB just voted for 3 subs!

But Liverpool play Tuesday this week. So if they had played today the gap between the games would have been the same as Wednesday/Saturday lunchtime.

Teams have a squad of 25 plus under 21s. Use them.

The other 72 teams in the EFL have been playing Saturday/Wednesday for years and they’ve never cried about it.

Exactly and Tottenham a few times this season have played Europa League on Thursday then had early kick off on Sunday, how is that any different

Sickening clash of heads between Luiz and Jimenez.
Sky rightly not showing any replays. The sound alone was terrifying
  • That was horrible.

Luiz shouldn't be allowed back on anyway but not just because of his head injury but he was almost in tears talking to the wolves medical team looking at Jimenez, its gonna affect him
  • Confirmed Jimenez has gone straight to hospital
  • MattF said:
Luiz bleeding through his bandage, surely between himself, Arteta and the medical team someone should have made the decision to get him off the pitch
Agree. And not just because of the bleeding.
I don’t think the concussion protocols ever seem strong enough in football.
just doesn’t seem to be taken seriously

So if he was so concerned about Robertson, then why didn't he start Konstantinos Tsimikas?

The bloke is hardly a shite footballer as a full back he cost them £12m and to be fair the opposition are hardly top sic contenders.

Really bad one that. Fingers crossed its more precautionary for Jimenez.
