WHAM Points Deduction - Closer to Reality

The PL are now threatening this if WHAM can't prove that they would be the main recipient of Tevez transfer cash. About time, but too late for us! Just our luck, too, that Sheff U will get shedloads of compensation from the High Court, making them odds on for promotion...

  • time to protest to the pl about sheff utd stopping a player they had sold from playing against them...got to be a points deduction for that as well...
  • i can see what will happen.

Not only to they get away with a bucket load of luck, Wham will also receive a cracking payment for the player !!!
  • they're going down...stands to reason now that bellamy's been quoted as how west ham are going to qualify for the champions league...
  • According to the Beeb, Tevez is likely to claim that he doesn't want to play for West Ham and appeal to FIFA to get his West Ham contract terminated. Where will that leave West Ham?
  • Joorabchian (or however you spell it) is now claiming that Tevez' loan period at WHAM is over (according to SSN).

Well, I suppose if WHAM tore up the agreement, they might find it difficult to argue otherwise.

    What a ludicrous mess.
  • And now MSI are poised to hand over the paperwork to Sheff U...

This time surely there's no escape for the cheats?
  • It's gonna get very messy weegie and WHO really knows what the situation is,Tevez is the MOST FAMOUS player ever to play in the prem FACT?
  • Whatever happens WHU will get off. I smell a 2 point deduction.
  • But if WH get any points deduction it is a tacit admission by the PL that they were duped into allowing Tevez to play in the last few games of last season. The PL can deal with WH as they like but the PL's negligence in simply accepting WH's word that the agreement was terminated (when it clearly wasn't) could open the door for compensation/damages for Sheff Utd.
  • Why shouldnt Watford and Charlton get compo aswell.

  • Of course, all along there has been someone on our payroll who was probably privy to all that was going on with these signings and would know most of the real facts..........
  • If the PL has to pay out compensation to Sheffield then effectively every club in last seasons premier division (including us) will have to pay out for West Hams deception. I bet the clubs who couldn't give a toss about the whole affair will change their tune if they're forced to stump up on West Hams behalf.

Do you not think that was also part of why he fell out with them? (OK, I know the other speculation too.) Pardew's whole attitude and demeanour was that he was plainly unhappy to have the two Argies on board - perhaps he was well aware of how dodgy it all was.
  • You'll probably find that Pardew has been sworn to silence by his (no doubt rather hefty) pay-off from Egg-head at Christmas.
  • Good point, F-B.

Pards won't touch this one with a barge pole!!! Although, if this does end up in court then he will be quite likely to be called on to give evidence. However, as I understand it the High Court is only ruling on whether or not the Blades can appeal the PL panel ruling, its not a court case in itself.
  • I can see the only way out of this is that w ham are relegated and sheff utd reinstated cos if the prem leauge have to pay another 50 mill on top of thier budget it will mean less to go round next year when we go up,cos lets face the money has to come from somewhere, the prem leauge aint got 50 mil to throw around willy nilly, and the forcasted budget for this year already allocated somethings gotta give and unfortunatly the prem wont, court ruling or not,
in real terms we do not really have a case for compo as we were second bottom with a fair points difference so just let them sort it out and move forwards we are here and we will win this comp to be put back where we belong after rebuilding a great pasionate team of players...

If West Ham are found not to have terminated the agreement legally after the PL's request at the first hearing, then playing Tevez when he would otherwise not have been cleared to play means that West Ham should be docked points for EACH game Tevez played in subsequently?

  • The decision not to deduct them points had a major effect on the performances of the teams around them at the bottom.
At one stage we had pulled ourselves well clear of them. However once they jumped above us again, it seemed as though we knew it was curtains and our chance had gone.
In the end we finished second bottom some points off safety but that shouldn't disguise the fact that it did have an impact on our season.
We should definately be instructing our lawyers to start preparing our case for a compensation claim alongside Sheff Utd.

How about the PL's negligence in the first place in simply accepting the word of one T Brown who said that there were no TP contracts in place. Two World Class footballers are suddenly parachuted into West Ham in the last hours before the end of the transfer deadline. Players who would cost millions if purchased outright. They were loaned by somebody (and presumably it would be easy to find out who it wasn't, i.e the club they came from?). Yet West Ham denied there was any agreement - Brown lied to Scudamores face. The only basis of the PL's scrutiny then is "we asked them to confirm the position". No wonder they are in a mess!! Those leading the PL are total and utter twats and they should be shot for their mishandling of this matter right from the start.
  • "Football administrators in bungle shocker!"

Same as it ever was. If the verdict goes against them, they should all resign. But they wont of course, a tea boy might get the push, but the high rollers will carry on earning, and keep their heads down for a bit. Then in years to come, write books and do "amusing", well paid after dinner speeches about the whole sorry affair.
  • It's total mal-administration, deceit and corruption - and it stinks........!
