  • Maynard-Brewer: 7 - Great at penalties, didnt have much to do all evening
Lapslie: 4 - Out of position for large periods but that last minute chance let him down
Barker: 7 - Thought he had a good game, his Senior experience showed
Mingi: 6 - Solid game from him, bit unfortunate that the embargo meant that Barker got in ahead of him
Vega: 5 - Out of position first-half and it showed, a lot better the second
Morgan: 6 - Had a pretty decent game, took his goal well
Watson: 6 - Showed his leadership, his passing was maybe a level above the kids
Venning: 7 (MOTM) - Good to see him shining in what is effectively his age group
Forster-Caskey: 5 - Poor first half but improved when he dropped into defence
    Williams: 4 - Very disappointing
Davison: 7 - Continues to impress me, very good work rate and nice bit of skill
Henry: 6 - Bit like Vennings, good to see him showing what he can do against his age group

Maynard-Brewer: 8 two extra marks for the penalty saves
Lapslie: 6 should've scored one on one
Barker: 6.5 steady defending ability defies his age
Mingi: 6.5 first I've seen of him didn't disappoint
    Vega: 6 same as above
Morgan: 7 could see he's 1st team material took his goal well
Watson: 6.5 calming influence 1st half minus 0.5 for another booking
Vennings: 6.5 very tidy but would like to see more attacking threat
Forster-Caskey: 6 ineffective 1st half better 2nd and his shot led to equaliser
Williams: 6 left wing with some typical dribbles but no end product
Davison: 7 worked hard ploughing a loan furrow
Henry: 6 apart from one crunching tackle didn't overly impress on this cameo. Took his penalty well though.

  • Whats the link between the embargo and Barker starting ahead of Mingi in the first team @ForeverAddickted?

Marks here only please discussions to the post or match thread as there isn't a former 😉.

  • Decided to mark for the first time this season .

I enjoy watching the youngsters progress . I can't help feeling that AMB , Mingi , Vega , Ness and Davison would benefit from loans preferably in League 2 or if and when the National League starts to play

Maynard-Brewer 7 For the penalty saves
Lapslie: 5 Loses a mark for the OG and the bad miss at the end . Feel he is going backwards .
    Barker:6 Another good game
Mingi: 8 Really impressed me . Think he might be useful in the squad
Vega: 6 Looked so much better as a LCB rather than LB . Unlucky to pull his hamstring
    Morgan: 6 Did reasonably well
Watson: 6 Obviously was playing to get fitness
Vennings: 6 Moved the ball well
Forster-Caskey: 6 . 5 for the first half 7 for the second . Jake is much better as a Left Wing Back than midfielder now
Williams: 5 Jonny frustrated me tonight . On his day he is our best player
    Davison: 6 Kept going
    Henry: 5 Average

Ness: n/a Good debut . A shame he wasn't left footed as we lost some balance when Vega went off .

Barker is a scholar so his first team appearances wouldn’t count towards our 23 man squad. That’s why he was picked ahead of Mingi to allow us to add to our swuad.

    My marks below:

Maynard-Brewer: 7 saved 2 pens, didn’t have much to do bit dealt with everything well. Bowyer obviously rates him.
Lapslie: 5 a shame he is having to play RB as opposed to fighting for his spot in the middle of the park. Hopefully that’ll change soon.
    Barker: 6.5 learning every game
Mingi: 6 got caught on the ball a fair bit
Vega: 5 I watch the U23s quite often but haven’t seen much of this kid. Done okay tonight
Morgan: 7 his range of passing is so good. First senior goal should give him confidence. Bowyer was still reluctant to praise him. Interesting though that he thinks all the kids have the same bad habits.
Watson: 6 this was all about minutes in the tank.
Vennings: 7 very good player. Calm.
Forster-Caskey: 5 injury has set him
baxk. I understand it’s hard to get motivated playing a bunch of kids, but he should see this as an opportunity to impress.
    Williams: 5 see JFC
Davison: 7 worked bloody hard. Didn’t get a great deal of service today. Needs a loan and hopefully gets that once we get bodies in
    Henry: 6 didn’t really
notice him. He’s just turned 17 so wont
    judge

Ness: n/a nervous start but grew into the game
Quitirna n/a actually thought he done okay when he came on

Maynard-Brewer 7 Looked huge in the goal when the pens were taken
Lapslie: 4 Playing out of position, but does not look like he will make it with us
    Barker: 6
Mingi: 7 Looked like a more skilful Oshilaja
    Vega: 6
Morgan: 7 In and out of the game, still too much of a passenger
    Watson: 6
    Vennings: 6
Forster-Caskey: 4. Too much running and passing backwards
Williams: 4 Something has gone wrong, Bowyer's comments on him right on the money
Davison: 6 Works hard but no class
    Henry: 5

This seems a bit harsh. A look at the transfer thread shows that marking players without ever having heard of them before is allowed.

  • Maynard-Brewer: 7 (Solid not much to do, extra half mark for penalty saves)
    Lapslie: 5
Barker: 6 (Defended well did have a messy 10 minutes of giving the ball away)
Mingi: 6.5 (Strong, swept up well)
    Vega: 5.5
Morgan: 7.5 (His movement and passing was class above everyone on the pitch, took goal well)
Watson: 6.5 (Played deep role, looked to play forward spread the play wide and protect)
Vennings: 7 (Looked tidy, recieved and turned well)
Forster-Caskey: 5 (Top negative for me either playing into trouble or going backwards)
Williams: 5 (Lack of end product failed to get ball into box on couple of occasions but on his day unplayable)
Davison: 6.5 (Hard job, but put in a real shift moving into the channels holding it up)

    Henry: 6 (Bright future)
