He's got a sponsorship deal with Daz!

We're paying him a low wage, but giving him lots of free shirts instead. By selling these shirts to fans who can't get them, he can top up his salary  ;)
  • Great signing but really the worst kept secret ever,
  • Happy with that, good signing.

  • Surely this has got to be good news?

Someone we've heard of , plenty of experience, hope he's not injury prone, bit gutted we couldn't sign Adam Matthews, as we know he's good ,probably came down to wages.

Why are we signing so many welsh players?
  • I'm guessing he's about 50, doesn't say on the club website.
  • Really pleased with that! Matthews must be gutted to have missed out now, I know he wanted a certain figure but surely taking a slight hit is better than earning nothing.

Good signing and nice to see a 2/3 year contract.

Awaits @golfaddick 's arrival to tell.us how shit he is and how pointless the signing is and that unless we sign 12 strikers the planet earth will veer away from its natural orbit and crash into the sun thus obliterating humankind as why know it.
Don't for get a whole new midfield in before 5pm.

  • Providing his bodies not shot (20 games in each of the last 2 seasons) could be a solid signing.

Gunter has nearly 100 caps, that shows his pedigree. I genuinely think that Bowyer wanted Gunter as his first choice rather than Matthews

He was holding up Williams but he slipped out just as the photo was taken...
    Top quality bants...
  • Great signing for us. He's not the most capped Wales player by accident and he's someone who has historically been consistent and not struggled too much with injuries, which sadly can't be said about Matthews. He's ahead of Matthews for Wales and doesn't have the same fitness history so if we're going to only really have one specialist right back it makes sense to bring in the one who can regularly play twice a week. I'm sure we'll cure him of his lack of injury problems soon though. Got to say, Watson, Famewo, Gunter and Maddison are four fantastic signings for this level, you can't really argue with the Sandgaard era signings so far.
Give him a week training with us to sort that out.

    Forgot to bring Scarfy.

Olly said to him, "Here's another shirt, that'll do, they'll never notice".

A shirt is just a scarf for your torso

A better right back than we deserve at this level. And with a salary cap.

I feel like Bowyer is packing this team with some experienced winners who know how to manage games. Something we lacked last year.

Great signing, Amos has a solid defence in front of him now.

I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the rest of the transfer window, rather than worrying about how the bills are getting paid/will we have a club to support come Xmas
  • Well pleased, really good signing

"Yeah but we need a striker blah blah wibble"

Not spectacular but a solid, experienced defender from a higher level.

    Pleased he's here.

A very good signing for a League 1 club and who can help the younger members on the training pitch, and on match days.

We need 2 strikers but that is for another day.

Really, really pleased with this signing. Think it's a real steal for a team in League 1.

Feels so good signing players of some calibre again.

Looks like a good, experienced signing. We need that.
  • Excellent signing. Surprised he's dropped down to league 1.

That's how you beat a wage cap.

2 years with the option of a third is so refreshing, even if he is north of 30.

Agreed. Good enough to start for 2 seasons in League one and becomes back up in the 3rd year in either L1 or the Champ, means we only have to worry about signing one player in the position in the future.

Didn't see much in it between him and Mathews, was happy with either.  Good signing.

And there's already a song for him:

Don't forget Charlton have only signed him so they can sell millions of shirts in China!

  • Good signing this!   Bowyer going for experience to get us out of this league. Would love some talented youngsters coming in aka Brentford model but let’s just get promoted first!

Bowyer wanted Kyle Walker but Thomas said we will go for him in the January window 2023 when we are in the top 6 in the Championship.
