Hi guys and girls
Decided to put this on here rather than use the main board.
I am looking at purchasing a laptop at some stage, not right now as I dont have the money, but right now I am looking for advice on which laptop would be best so I can start saving at hopefully get one around January time.
Basically I am bored of playing FM on my phone and want the actual game for a change, so I need a laptop that is good enough to handle FM database at a decent speed, it doesnt have to be mega fast as long as it doesnt take ages to load.
Other than that its just the odd CharltonLife and twitter browsing I will be using it for and maybe download a few songs.
But the main thing is Football Manager

Prioritise processor and RAM then, as most of FM is calculations rather than graphics.
Also, if you can get a desktop machine instead of a laptop you will get a lot more value for your money, and generally boxed machines last longer too.0 -
Reddit is a good resource for this!FYI it says in the comments of the link below it says that the latest generation of processor is 6th/7th/8th. I’m guessing it’s a bit old now because the latest generation is actually 10th.

i use large database, have English league down to national league north/south plus Scottish, French, German, Italian and Spanish top league.
im getting 4.5* performance with that.0 -
Do you want to sell your laptop to @paulie8290? He’ll give you two-Bob extra if you leave your saved games on it too 😉0

Thanks for rhe advice @Callumcafc and @Huskaris will bare it in mind when looking.
Thanks for the recommendation @DoctorCharlton but that is way out of my price range anytime soon lol, it will take me a long time to save £520 lol. Was hoping for something under £300 that would still take a few months the save but it would give me a target then lol, and hopefully still be able to play FM at a reasonable speed.0 -

that's fair enough mate. When shopping just try and go for 8gb ram, should cover you well in the world of football manager.

I'm sure theres somebody better qualified to answer your question, but for me it does seem cheap and generally that means its too good to be true.
I noticed the delivery date too, so looks like its coming straight out of China.

I know you mentioned around £300 Paulie have a look at these:
This is a refurb but top spec and comes with 1year warranty
This one the processor isn't as powerful but still up to the trick, and it's brand new:
