  • Very sad news.  That's no age. Was lucky enough to see him play in a good Kent side.

    RIP Graham.
  • Very sad news. RIP Graham.
  • RIP to one of our own, KCCC owes so much to him and his family.
  • RIP Graham, you loved a laugh as much as you loved your cricket. Sincere condolences to all of your loved ones.

    RIP Graham
  • Very sad news.

    RIP
  • Very, very sad news. A superb fielder and a batter who really flourished when Aravinda De Silva was with Kent. RIP.

Am saddened to learn of this news. Kent CCC has had plenty of frustrations - and the occasional success - in the decades that I have followed it. Graham was a positive charge in an XI that did well and his passing will leave a big hole in the club. RIP, Graham.

    Such sad news.
  • Very sad news at no age. RIP Graham
  • Shocking. Far too young. RIP
  • Shocked to read about this today.

    RIP
  • Diabolical news.  RIP
  • That is terribly shocking news , my condolences to the family and to all at Kent CCC.
Saw money times and was a talented player, even  when upagsinst Surrey, one of those Jent players who always seemed to relish playing against Surrey.
  • Very sad rest in peace mr Cowdrey. Nice guy and left the field far too early
  • Remember his debut — such sad news RIP
  • Utterly shocking news, which must be devastating to his family and friends.

I remember playing against Graham in a school match at Tonbridge. He must have been 17 at the time. In an usual piece of symmetry, I caught him and he later caught me. I’d like to say honours were even, but there was a key difference: he made a shedload of runs and I didn’t!

His catch was at first slip, snaffled effortlessly in the style of his old man.

RIP Graham, you will be much missed.

Same here, I had imagined him having a comfortable life, which was sadly very wrong

Graham was a friend of mine. Warm, funny, compassionate and generous and, of course, a terrific cricketer. We went to many a Van and Dylan gig together and one of my greatest memories was when we spent five hours chatting with Van after a show. Van called him "Midnight' because he would always turn up at Van's hotel at that time after a gig. I shall miss him a lot and have nothing but good memories of him.
    I'm sorry for your loss.
  • Bloody hell, no!
    Met him on hols once.
    Great guy.
    Sad news.
  • That’s really sad RIP GC
I thought he was way older than that.
    Very sad news indeed.
  • Reading about his life after cricket was very tough. My own memories were of him as a bit of a swashbuckling bat, and decent bowler - I always looked forward to him batting though occasionally he was back in the pavilion fairly quickly.
Gutted to read he has died so young. 56 is no age at all. Thoughts go out to friends and family.
    RIP
