Christmas is approaching and it's time to think beyond Christmas shopping and the festive lockdown rules. December 25th is an important day in the CL Prediction world too. It's the day when the top 128 competitors on that date are entered into the 2021 Prediction Knock Out Cup. As Happy Harriet and Pessimist Pete are banned from the competition after crowd trouble, everyone up to and including 14th in the National League South is entered. In the event of a tie for the lower places, the competitor most recently scoring a higher amount is entered.
For those new to the Prediction League, the Cup works by playing against another competitor and the one scoring the higher number of points progresses to the next round. It's as a simple as that. Your usual weekly predictions in the League are used as your score in the tie you are drawn in. There's a replay if it's necessary the following week and after six rounds, someone is crowned the Cup winner. There's also a Cup competition for the 1st Round losers to give everyone a second chance.
@SaySomething is currently displaying the much sought after trophy in a display cabinet at home right now, but I am sure that there will be 127 others who will be hungry to be at Wembley for the final at the end of the season.
Anyway, no more dreaming of being at Wembley just yet, it's back to the bread and butter for Week 10 of the Prediction League. Just pick three of this merry bunch.
