The Hypothetical: if Bowyer went, who would be your replacement?

  • Lockdown is affecting everyone’s brains! We are lucky to have a club and nearly went into administration to get picked over by vultures. We put a squad together last minute on a wage restriction. Bowyer stuck with us for years when he had offers and everyone is writing him off already when he’s still barely spent any money on transfers. Even though he’s proven he can get promoted out of this league.

Pathetic. Football fans are just too fickle.

Nathan Jones, he has been gone too long

Seriously some of you need to give your head a woble. The war is over.  I joked about it on Wednesday night but I was being half serious.   You don't have to fight someone all the time.
Exactly. Everyone wants immediate success. I know our fans are particularly fickle but this really takes the biscuit. Maybe some of our fans deserved the shithousery ownership of the last few years judging by their loyalty on the other side of it.
  • A few months ago we had fans saying how lucky we were to have Charlton men in charge who were loyal. I still feel like that.

    We'll improve.
Sandgaard will keep Bowyer at least to the end of the season, and he deserves that opportunity.

Not if he keeps slagging off players or has publicly lost the changing room.

What has he actually done to deserve a full season with no risk to his role? He got us promoted, earned a free relegation pass, got a massive bumper package to his contract, got relegated and now People think he deserves another free season?

He should get a fair crack, but that shouldn't be the entire season, it should be depending on how we're doing.

Sandgaard has earned the right to make the decision on managers and he has my backing whatever he chooses.

I do wonder if there remains to be something from the ESI V Lex Dominus case that has come up and could be why we seem so fractured of late.
My reasoning is that, up until this season, LB has been operating without any financial or infrastructure support from the owners. He has that this season but Thomas’s takeover came too late in the transfer window.  By the time the embargo was lifted we had very limited options and were further hampered by the salary cap. So I think LB deserves full backing for at least the rest of this season - unless the unthinkable happens and we sink closer to the relegation zone during December and January.

If Lee was to walk, or Thomas lose patience, neither of which I
would want, nor think will happen this season, then as a purely
hypothetical question, I would love to see Jackson step up, another
    Charlton thru and thru.
  • Embarrassing thread , this squad was put together at short notice under a wage cap. Last time we went up we had Aribo , Beilik , Cullen and rat face. Quality which we now do not have , yes the last few games haven't been great but Lee is trying to mould a team from the players he was able to sign up at short notice. Some will not be up to the job , rebuilds don't happen overnight
  • For a team made up of free transfers and loan signings I think we are doing remarkably well. With a bit of luck and a fair wind we could be in the playoffs come May.
That would be a fantastic achievement with this squad of players.

Taking care of our players could play dividends in the second half of the season, and with a little investment in January we could get to Wembley.

I really like Jacko but I wouldn’t want to see him step up to the manager role. If and when Bow goes I want to see an exciting, proven manager come in.
