Curbs also drummed out Greg Shields, Scot Parker was banished to the stiffs for wanting his move to Chel$ki.ForeverAddickted said:
Curbs was no different as a Manager... Didnt he get rid of Shaun Newton in less than favourable circumstances?Lordflashheart said:Maddison has to have fallen out big time with Bowyer - a fall out that can’t be repaired - and given what happened at Peterborough, where the manager there washed his hands of him, it is likely the issue is to do with Maddison - that said, I imagine that if you fall out with Bowyer, it’s very difficult to get back on an equal footing with him
But if we lose Maddison and Williams, and don’t replace them today, that’s very poor on the part of the club
Bowyer certainly isnt some revolutionary Manager that gets rid of players at the first sign of a disagreement
Jason Euell too was excluded for ages before finally being forgiven.

It's a really sad sign for me that Bowyer hasn't and won't ever be able to manage difficult players. It's known he holds grudges too.
I am disappointed.1 -
Maddison to Bolton is bizarre! Clear he isn’t gonna play for us again, what a waste of time!0
-
Bolton about to announce a signing. Would be shocked if it’s MM this quickly but who knows?

@Rothko
Bowyer isn't the messiah, he can be criticised. Right now it looks like he's ditched some of our most creative players because they don't fit into his new negative gameplan we've seen since last January.
I hope he does well, but I simply cannot see us getting promoted when he goes on about stability and then brings in players and sells them on months later.

Says it all that a player would prefer to stay with club in a relegation battle, than come to us lol27 -
Greg Shields was a tidy player - why did Curbs drum him out ?Oggy Red said:

FFS really? Can't even convince players to sign from the shambles that is Wigan now.1

Not that I want to piss on anybody's chips i'd like to see us sign Randall too but a mate of mine who supports Exeter reckons it's to replace Nicky Law who's just gone to the MLS as a player-coach, just passing on what he told me. Still hope we can sign Randall but I don't see it happening unless we're prepared to up our offer.Callumcafc said:Exeter have signed a winger on loan from Newport.1 -
"Marry in haste, repent at leisure" as the old proverbs says.
Circumstances (two weeks to build a squad after sociopath owners and years of neglect) left Bowyer and Gallen grabbing whoever was available for a quick walk up the aisle.
Now they've had to co-habit with them for a few months they are taking the chance to divorce a few.

Bowyer is getting rid of the players he doesn't want. It's quite obvious (good for him).SELR_addicks said:
Why are we shipping all our players out when you can't get better with the wage cap?ForeverAddickted said:
How do you offer mega transfers, yet can only offer a pittance of a wage?SELR_addicks said:Sounds like we're relying on frees, loans and cheap moves.
Thought this was a brand new era?9 -

I can't be sure though, Shields was a feisty red-haired Scot ....... I guess there was an argument, and Curbs wasn't having that threat to his authority.Lordflashheart said:

I think the time for stressing will be if nobody signs however after signing Millar, Schwartz, Stockley and Smith I see the current action as very positive. Strap in folks!10

I seriously, seriously question Bowyer's emotional intelligence tbh18
-
Management straight out of the "I was smacked as a child and turned out okay!" school7

There is a story from the Wiredu sale to Colchester about Bowyer not liking Wiredu buying a new car after he signed a new contract, so made him go back to the U23's...SamE7 said:

Bowyer has form here with grudges unfortunately...3 -

I t would be uncanny. Has this ever happened anywhere before?SELR_addicks said:So that's now 4 players that we signed in the summer we've shipped out 6 months later.
Maybe we should ask Bowyer and Gallen why they signed them in the first place?
The by product of the cap maybe?
Can see now why it was so obvious something was up these last 6 weeks.
Bowyer hates a big chunk of his squad!
Shit or bust for Bows now you'd have to think1 -
With Maddison they spent a season watching him and half a season trying to sign him. They made it clear we wanted him last January and again made it clear we still wanted him following our relegation.Henry Irving said:"Marry in haste, repent at leisure" as the old proverbs says.

We need to stop creating excuses for them. It's boring now.5
