Charlton’s home fixture against Accrington Stanley has been moved to Friday, January 8th (7.45pm) as it has been selected to be televised by Sky Sports.
The Sky Bet League One clash was originally scheduled for Saturday, January 9th, but will now take place a day earlier with an evening kick-off.
Due to broadcast regulations, the game will not be available to view on Valley Pass Live in the UK and Ireland or any country which has a broadcast deal in place.
"However, because of EFL regulations, the club will be allowed to give access to Valley Pass Live to season-ticket holders using CAFC Cash."
What a game that is for the neutrals. Friday night, pubs and restaurants probably closed due to lockdown and the most depressing time of year - but have no fear, Charlton V Accrington will ease the 2021 blues.
Why give £10 to Sky when you can give our club the money and watch our very own show? Loved it on Saturday
Exactly, much rather watch the Charlton TV production than commentary and punditry from people who probably (depending who is on) couldn't care less about Charlton or Accrington
There are far more likely to be Charlton related pundits than Accrington ones! Apart from the geography, I'm really struggling to name a famous ex player with Accrington connections

Selfishly I actually prefer Friday night home matches. Looking forward to logging off work early and having a couple of tinnies in the build up to the big game.

Then tick a new ground on the Saturday.
The one good idea the squirrel had when she was here.....apart from resigning.

Is there a list on the OS (or anywhere else) of which overseas territories have a broadcast deal, meaning the match cannot be watched on Valley Pass? It would be useful to know.
I cannot imagine that there are many places where they buy League One and Two matches? Here in Portugal Eleven Sport cover Championship once in a blue moon, so I know there was an issue when we were in that league, but does this still count, because it is EFL - even though they dont show anything below Championship?
Luckily I have Sky through Now TV for the next few months, but it might be handy for others to know?

There’s only one thing more depressing than watching this game in the pub.....and that’s watching it with you in the pub.
It's the phone call you receive before hand Otto. Youd get how much is a pint in there Otto £4.50 Elfs. Ok Otto I wont bring too much out £13.50 will get my 3 pints.

Asking for peanuts when buying a round is taking liberties.

Thanks Clive. I had seen that before actually. I have e-mailed the EFL out of curiosity as that does not answer the Championship v Leagues One and Two question. But I appreciate your effort.

I'd be interested to know what reply you get because I don't believe that Bein Sports show English third division football in France.
Just checked: they are showing three matches on 8th January: 2 FA Cup matches and 1 Bundesliga.
So I am not allowed to watch it on my Valley Pass season ticket because it would contravene broadcasting rights of a broadcaster who choose not to show it anyway.

A Sky day pass costs 9.99 but I also have to pay for a month's pass to to a VPN service.
F*** Sky.
And they were even Charlton players!

No idea who the BBC are putting up on Friday night in opposition. A big Premiership clash no doubt....🙂
