As recently as a couple of weeks ago I would have said “no way”, now I’m honestly not sure. Things feel as bad, if not worse, as when we had the peak of the first wave.
The only shining light is that we have much greater testing capacity, a vaccine being rolled out and a greater understanding of how to treat this thing.
Given that NHS resources are at breaking point, if professional football puts any additional burden on the system at all then it might be worth thinking about taking a break - especially in the EFL where there doesn’t appear to be a mandatory routine testing regime akin to the Premier League protocol.
