I see the young Rochdale winger Baah who ripped us apart has been snapped up by Man City
Once we had a right back playing at right back, he hardly got a kick. Credit for the way he took the goals though. Hopefully being just another kid at a big academy won’t hinder his progress.
where did the other rochdale kid end up? He scored at old Trafford as a 16/17 year old?
Wolves, but loaned back and still at Rochdale I think.
Nah Luke Matheson (if thats who you're thinking of) is back at Wolves, I guess in their U23s now
That's him, couldn't recall the name mate. I didn't realise Wolves took him, I thought the deal was he stayed with Rochdale until the summer.
Yeah he signed last January, only the deal was as you said where they kept him until the summer
So this season is effectively his first with Wolves, played one game for them in the EFL Trophy
Hard enough keeping up with Charlton I don't know how you keep up with everything else. I think in my head the transfer windows have merged in to one that's where I've confused myself. 😔

Amazing to think Baah left Palace at 15. Don't know the details why but know he played games for Kinetic foundation and Whyteleafe.( Level 8) The manager Harry Hudson and the Assistance manager ran the successful Kinetic foundation. The assistance manager Calum McFarlane left Whyteleafe and had to leave Kinetic after many years as he had a new Job.
The new Job was as an academy coach at Man City ! Calum McFarlane is about 30.
Ps. Joe Aribo was connected with Kinetic for 4 years as for some reason he wasn't in an academy from 13-17. Joined Staines then cafc and the rest is history.
You should worry - Tommy Doyle made his debut for Man City last season and I remember watching his two grandfathers, Mike Doyle and Glyn Pardoe, playing!

He's just signed for Ipswich on loan
Could be a good loan for Ipswich but I thought scoring goals is their problem? He is a good defender though. I won't bang on about Barker anymore, but I do see similarities. Just tear my hair out that we are not blooding In young players whilst in this league
Looking at his wiki, as a 16 year old he played for Whyteleafe in the Isthmian league south east division in August 2019 before signing a contract with Rochdale a month later.
Less than 18 months later he's agreed a pre-contract with Man City.
Weirdest transfer of the day must be Kieran Freeman. Left Sheffield Utd for our mates Swindon on 7th January. Yesterday they sold him to Swansea without him ever playing. Swindon got a player in exchange from them on loan.
Sunderland cutting their loses with Grigg and Graham.
Money well spent, that was.
Not sure how much Graham cost, no different to Bogle or Maddison. Grigg was a horrendous signing, although I think he's still half decent and will do ok at MK.

Wasn’t it rumoured on here that graham was on about £10k a week as he was signed before the cap

Possibly, although it would just be that, a rumour. It was no doubt a failed signing, but so were Bogle and Maddison who have now left the club. Grigg was the one that will sting, that's a lot of money to waste as a League 1 club.

It happens though, doesn't it?
It's always a gamble signing a player, lots of different factors in play ..... and sometimes it just doesn't work out.
It's one of those strange things, where a player truly thrives at a club and at the next, flops. The galling thing is when you sell a flop at a big loss/free - and he goes on to be a star man at his next club.
Not a done deal but seems Troy Parrott is going to Ipswich on loan
(Source, Cawley)
Season long loans seem to be a thing of the past these days. I’ve never known so many players to be recalled and sent to another club as much as now.
Unfortunately he’s no where near ready for our level. Could do well at your level though. Could end up a coup for Ipswich.
It does feel that many of these "hyped" PL starlets get sent to too high a level, as if clubs underestimate the quality of the Championship. Parrott is only 18 after all.
The Man City Matt Smith for example last year had 2 unsuccessful loan spells at QPR and us, and only now is getting more regular game time in L1
For some players it works out, for some they struggle, that's just football.
Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher, Reece James and Emile Smith-Rowe all played in the championship as a teenager. In fact if you loan a Chelsea player you're almost guaranteed to be signing a quality player.

We're onto Grandkids of people I saw play live now.
I feel old!
