Amos: 5 - Not a great first go, nothing to do about the wicked deflection of the second.
Matthews: 5 got absolutely skinned for the first. Much better after.
Gunter: 7 decent and did well at LB.
Oshilaja: 7 decent and battled well.
Maatsen: 5 he can defend reasonably well, but his passing and shooting are laughable. Bring back Purrington!
Williams: 5 he tried. He failed to do anything of note and we looked much better after the formation change.
Forster-Caskey: 7 still owning his position.
Pratley: 4 Stop fouling everyone FFS.
Millar: 7.5 real threat, but decisions let him down.
Aneke: 7 battled well, scored a headed tap in. Passing bloody awful.
Schwartz: 6 makes very good runs, often ignored by his strike partner. When not ignored his partner failed to deliver the ball to him.
Shinnie: 7 good goal, awful shot saved.
Morgan: 8 worked hard and battled well. Always looking for the killer pass, unselfish could and should have had 3 assists.
    Referee: 7 fair.
  • Amos: 5
    Matthews: 5
    Gunter: 6
Oshilaja: 7 (I still think he's wasted at CB as he's much better going forward than Gunter or Mattthews)
    Maatsen: 6
    Williams: 6
    Forster-Caskey: 7
    Pratley: 6
Millar: 7 (-0.5 for the missed challenge)
Aneke: 6.5 (Always a threat, but poor link up play and Bonne or Bogle would have been slaughtered for a couple of his misses)
Schwartz: 6 (other than the 2 chances, pretty anonymous)
Shinnie: 7 (well taken goal, his passing was still a bit rusty though)
    Morgan: 7
    Referee: 7
  • Amos: 6 didn't have much to do and still conceded twice - got exposed one-on-one a few times and survived
Matthews: 6 a bit weak on the first goal but his overall play behind Williams and Morgan was superb on the ball.
    Gunter: 6 did fine
Oshilaja: 6 made me nervous all day
Maatsen: 7 really good, didn't do much wrong
Williams: 6 had a good match by his standards, as always excellent on the ball, finally getting stuck in a bit
Forster-Caskey: 8 so consistent now, does everything well, always available for a pass, gets in the box, tenacious out of possession
Pratley: 6 looked a bit lost, better defending than on the ball.
Millar: 7 lovely player, a bit milque-toast defending but the way he drifted around the pitch made up for it.
Aneke: 7 got a goal and missed a few, tried to create for others
Schwartz: 6 probably let down a bit by the service he was getting - score that goal and he gets an 8
Shinnie: 7 we've missed this guy
Morgan: 7 getting better every week - learned the lessons that Williams is only getting to now.
Referee: 7 kept control and no big errors
  • Amos: 3.5 poor for 1st goal ,strange headless chicken moment as a defender.
Matthews: 3.5 Poor defending for first goal, what has happened to him??
    Gunter: 5 ok
    Oshilaja: 6.5 pretty solid
Maatsen: 3.5 first 6 to 8 games of the season i thought here's my POTY candidate . Whats happened??
Williams: 4 Really not making any significant impact
Forster-Caskey: 6.5 Now one of the few consistent players in the team.
Pratley: 4 looked clumsy apart from first goal involvement
Millar: 6.5 pretty good, if that shot had of dipped under the bar???
Aneke: 6.5 handful but should have had at least 2
Schwartz: 6 Didn't get much service, great shot that got pushed onto the post .
Shinnie: 7 How much did we need that???
Morgan: 6.5 good to see him back in there
    Referee: 6.5

    Pearce: 5
Stockley: 6 great first touch header.
    Washington: 5  if only!!

  • Amos: 4 Beaten on near post again. Went chasing the ball in 2nd half. Methinks AMB might be worth a run out.
    Matthews: 5 Average at best
    Gunter: 6
    Oshilaja: 6
Maatsen: 5 Guy needs a rest, looks like he'll get one now due to injury

    Pratley: 6
Millar: 7 Not quite there yet but showing promise
    Aneke: 7
Schwartz: 6.5 Did nothing wrong . Has obvious ability. Unlucky not to score but their goalie did well.
Shinnie: 7.5 Made a difference when he came on. The lad has great vision and can pick out a forward pass. Not fully fit yet

Bow 2 - it took 5 subs to get our best 11 out there, there's a big hole in the midfield, finally filled by Shinnie and Morgan
I know this thread isn’t for comment but you would really drop jfc?

Perhaps I was not clear JFC best midfielder hence the 8, however, both he and Pratters seemed to have spent the first half looking at the space in front of them, Shinnie came on and filled that void and we looked decent. Seems a too common a failing in our set up!

  • Amos:  5 - didn’t have any saves to make and let in both Swindon’s shots on target. Should have done better with the first goal.
Matthews: 6 - mistake for the first goal and didn’t get forward that well today
Gunter: 7 - solid and showed his versatility by doing a good job slotting in for Maatsen at left back and bombed forward with Millar
Oshilaja: 7 - another solid performance
Maatsen: 6.5 - not quite at it today, hope his injury isn’t too bad
Williams: 6.5 - ran around a lot, one good header forward in the box
Forster-Caskey: 7 - not as good as recent games, seemed to go missing in the first half, better in the second
Pratley: 5 - slow slow slow
Millar: 8 - could be a good player, needs to harness his pace and control with better crossing, unlucky to hit the bar
Aneke: 7.5 - nice goal but a bit subdued
Schwartz: 7 - shame he missed that chance in the opening minutes, I thought that was in, and unlucky with the offside goal. Did seem quite invisible for a lot of the game.
Shinnie: 8.5 changed the game when he came on, and a good goal
Morgan: 8.5 - changed the game when he came on, he should be starting every game, what a pass to Washington at the death
Referee: 8 didn’t really notice him

Pearce: n/a - some solid headers
Stockley: n/a - hard to tell from today
Washington: n/a - shame he missed that chance at the end

    Amos:  5.5
Matthews:  6  Was good second half, but they posed no threat then.  First half their effective out ball was his side and he didn't look comfortable having to turn and cover.  Their first goal was five-a-side cover.
    Gunter:  6
Oshilaja: 7.5.  Very good, but without a more physical partner often looks like he's not going to win secondary/scrappy ball.
Williams 6.5:  Great first 25, then faded, but so did the whole team.
    Forster Caskey: 7.5
Pratley: 6.5   Much better second half 15 minutes.  I'm not a fan of the diamond, and don't think any of our cm's suit it now.  I'd prefer two sitting, with a 3-1 in front:  Still not perfect.
Millar:  7   Good going forward, was never going to win his 60-40.  Had to see the huge space and narrow way before he did.  But that's the diamond for you, too many players get isolated unless their all round game is on point.
Aneke:  7  Absolutely crucial for the team, good player, just does not maximise his scoring opportunities.  Still way better than loads of forwards we've had at this level.
Schwartz:  6  If his understandably low fitness wasn't a factor, would have marked him lower for his involvement.

Shinnie 9:  Apart from weak shot, almost a perfect 30 minutes.  Reminded me of Fabregas who used to come on for Spain and always look to go forward, whether he received the ball facing his own goal or not.

Morgan 8: Apart from Shinnie, was the best player on the pitch.  His inside/outside work and crossing much more effective than Millar.

Amos: 5.5 - Don't think it was an horrendous error (just an error). Powerful shot but a lot of keepers seem to get beaten at their near post these days. Don't remember it being so common years ago.
Matthews: 5.5 - Got beat for the first goal but any full-back can get beat one on one. Where was the support? His crossing was slightly better than his usual output. Can't be easy coming in for the occasional game, knowing that you'll probably be left out of the next one.
Gunter: 6 - Ok but will get found out at centre-back because he's not strong in the air.
Oshilaja: 7 - No blame at all for the 2nd goal and for the most part, had their forwards under control.
Maatsen: 6 - Did his best to get us forward. Occasionally ran outside Millar, blocking his space but that might have been the plan to allow Millar to cut inside. No-one can fault his effort and is doing very well for an untried 18yr old.
Williams: 6 - Played as a right-winger and at least tried to go on the outside. If Aneke heads the chance in, we'd talking about the great cross.
Forster-Caskey: 7.5 - Very busy and covered most aspects of midfield play...defence and attack. Looks in good form and very fit.
Pratley: 6 - A bit off the pace 1st half but 2nd half got into some good positions further up the field.
Millar: 7.5 - He has huge potential. Has shown he can effective as both a left-winger and a No.10. Looks fit and was easily able to cope with 90 mins (that's what playing regularly does for you). Don't think he bottled the challenge; just think he'd left himself too much to do and was the wrong side. With more experience, he'll tuck in earlier and make an interception. Young player with a very bright future.
Aneke: 6.5 - Wasn't having the best game and I was worried that his recent spate of misses was starting to ebb his confidence but he plugged away and got a good centre-forward's goal.
Schwartz: 6 - He's a finisher with a couple of good touches here and there. There are going to be plenty of games where he won't be especially involved but could pop up with a goal. He's also still feeling his way after a very long lay-off. Once up to speed, I think he'll do very well for us.
Shinnie: 7.5 - Made a big difference and I particularly liked his link play with Millar. He sees the "between the lines" ball and popped up with an important goal. Good player.
Morgan: 7.5 - Lots of energy and some very decent looking runs and balls in. He could be very suited to longish bursts as a sub. Seems to make an impact more often than not.
Referee: 8 - Very good. Should have booked Pratley first half (clear yellow) but reffed it in an old-school way, which I much prefer.

Pearce: n/a - Did ok. Very important part block to stop it going 1-3.
Stockley: n/a - Decent movement and a pretty good header at goal with his first touch.
Washington - Really good off the ball runs and to be fair, we were looking for him. Set up a couple of opportunities with clever cut backs but will be gutted about missing the late chance. Another one who might be more suited to bursts as a sub.

Amos: 5.5 - would be very disappointed with that first goal.
Matthews: 5.5 - missed tackle for their first. unlike him. got better in the second driving forward a few times down his side.
Gunter: 6.5 - pretty reasonable especially as he was out of his natural position. did ok even at left back.
Oshilaja: 6.5 - dominated the air on the most part.
Maatsen: 6 - not at his best defensively. gave them a bit too much space. went forward well with Millar but didn't threat much with his crossing.
Williams: 5.5 - was involved in that first half well. never trust him to score though. didn't track back as much as i would like.
Forster-Caskey: 7 - did well in the middle scraping away. was influential but did make a few errors.
Pratley: 5.5 - poor first half as he's too slow for a 2 man midfield. got better in the second before coming off.
Millar: 7 - should of made that tackle for their second goal but he was a threat throughout the game especially in the second half.
Aneke: 6 - as always a right handful but for every goal he scores he misses at least 5. very clumsy at times with his runs on the ball. decent first touch but ruins it on the most part with his second.
Schwartz: 5 - not close enough to Aneke for those two to link up. should be putting himself about a bit more. especially in the box.
Shinnie: 6 - good touch for his goal. should of scored another. some of his passes were poor. either over hit or under hit. a couple more games i think he'll get back to his old self before his injury.
Morgan: 7 - should of had a hat trick of assists.
Referee: 6 - let them time waste a bit too much
