What a day's cricket!! For once I didn't care that Charlton lost one little bit. Jordan Cox - a legend at just 20 years old. What drama out there on the boundary! And Sam Billings. Surely he will be Eoin Morgan's successor as England captain. So proud to be a Kentish man.
Get in there!! Absolutely buzzing we have won. What a T20 team we have. That catch from Cox was truly special and Billings was brilliant as captain. Up the mighty Kent. Think Mark butcher was gutted we won!
I was there! Fantastic captaincy throughout from Billings who managed every aspect so well. He made brave and correct decisions throughout most notably giving Denly another bowl after his horrendous 2nd over in the final. I think England should seriously consider him to take over from Morgan. So pleased for Stevo. What a legend! Great that he literally had his day in the sun! A lot of Kent fans there today too which was great!
Arrived home around 8pm and straight into our semi. Great stuff from our lads and onto the Final.
Sorry if I sound unusually quiet but after a somewhat traumatic day in Wycombe, we finally got to bed at 2.45 this morning and now off to son's family in Dorking but...
..WE SMASHED IT !
LOVE all these brave, honest boys , each & every one of them . Really would be unfair to single out any one for special praise but THANK YOU for a truly special end to a f*cked up day (apart from seeing another Kent stalwart, Stewart)
THIS is what team spirit, grit, character and never say die attitude means.
Our boys in the red shirts should be made to watch both matches today & maybe learn some hard lessons.
Must finish now as time to go & I'm filling up again...
I haven't been to a Kent game for many years, I just follow their performances in the media .. even so, this win has cheered me up considerably given the bad news re covid, fuel price rises, refugees, famine, wildfires, and not to mention poor old CAFC at rock bottom etc. .., I was born in Kent and no matter where I am or where I live, Kent and Charlton Athletic will always be close to my heart. Let's hope this win will be the start of a successful period for Kent C C C
Went to Wycombe but left on the second goal with 15mins left. Arrived home just in time for the start of the final. Totally forgot about the Wycombe fiasco at 2200hrs, when Kent lifted the trophy!
I sat behind her for ninety minutes at Wycombe keeping an eye on the semi final and dying to give her a bit of good news to cheer her up.
Thanks for keeping that poker face, Pico !
No radio allowed in the car on the way home but was great to have some decent chats with the 2 grandkids instead.
My news ban was nearly scuppered when, at half time, @killerjerrylee turned to me saying " Kent are...." at which point I jammed my fingers in my ears, madly jabbering "NOOOOOO" at which point, he took the hint !
On reflection, having had another day's recovery from Wycombe, watching the Spitfires last night was an unbelievable tonic & we retired to bed, buzzing & SO proud of the boys.
How could next summer's T20 competition be in doubt after such a brilliant Finals' Day as this ?
Be very careful, ECB.
Loins will be seriously girded & glued to the Main Gate at Lords should there be any hint of tampering with the best day of cricket every year, regardless of which county you support.

Excellent captaincy from Bilbo for taken the pace out of the game. Somerset didn't know how to deal with the spin.
