Just thought I'd pop in with this to show how many formations etc we've used so far. Jackson takeover point is where the fixtures change to the away colours.

Adkins said that against Crewe we played with Washington behind Stockley.  Just goes to show that when they work formations are far less obvious then when they don't.

Yeah I don't know if that's what we played as it didn't seem it.
  • When you have a central striker/ number 9/ Centre forward in Stockley or Aneke then when you play 2 up front with Washington then Conor won't be static he will play behind, alongside and hopefully running past Stockley or Aneke for flick ons.

I thought that was patently obvious ?

My issue was when Stockley was isolated and under Adkins, Washington spent more time by the left byline.

In the games he played on the left he did.  He didn't in the game/s he played behind.  I thought that would be patently obvious?

Stockley wasn't isolated when Millar and Gilbey were playing from the left and 10 respectively last season.  He was when Washington and Morgan did the same.

We scored a number of goals playing like that with the above mentioned running passed Stockley.

When you play well any system, within reason, looks good.  When you play badly the system takes a lot of the blame.  See the post match comments about how 352, or how ever you want to name it, is part of the problem.  The same as 4231/433 was, before that it was all the diamonds fault.

There is so much confirmation bias, people wanted to see not 433 because we won that despite the manager and, I can't remember which, a player saying it was the same system we had played the previous games some people just aren't having it.
